Gains Made in Maryland School Assessments

Maryland inched forward in elementary school reading and mathematics scores, both close to 90 percent proficiency across the state, according to data released today by the Maryland State Department of Education.

In the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) elementary student reading proficiency levels have increased from 88 percent in 2011 to 88.2 percent in 2012.  Math proficiency levels have increased from 86.3 to 87.7 percent.

With so much time spent teaching to the test, I hope they'd improve. Kudos for the gain.
