Fighting Bullies at the UN

Recent outbreaks of violence at the border between Israel and Gaza garnered more than their fair share of biased media attention. Many liberal news outlets conveniently left out that the “protests”—which were actually people storming Israel’s border with the intent to breach it and murder innocents—were organized by Hamas with the cynical goal of prompting Palestinian casualties and global condemnation of Israel.

As expected, the United Nations followed the terrorist group’s lead and fell into line, heaping criticism on Israel.

The terrorists were, by their own admission, determined to infiltrate the Jewish state and sow as much death and destruction as possible. After Israel successfully defended its borders and citizens from these malicious would-be intruders, the world, the media, and the U.N. decried its justified actions as human rights violations, despite the fact that Hamas claimed the majority of victims as its own.

Seventeen States Are Flat-Out Ignoring Federal Hemp Laws and Markets Are Thriving

This report was originally published by Michael Maharrey at FEE.org

Even with the liberalization of the law in 2014, the federal government still prohibits industrial hemp production for commercial purposes. But this hasn’t stopped more than a dozen states from developing commercial hemp markets anyway. They’ve simply ignored the federal laws, nullifying prohibition in effect within their borders.

Seventeen states specifically authorize and license commercial hemp production despite federal prohibition, and many other states allow commercial cultivation despite paying lip-service to federal law.

FEDERAL FARM BILL

In 2014, Congress cracked the door open for hemp in the U.S. with an amendment to the 2014 Farm Bill. The law allows hemp cultivation for research purposes, but prohibits “commercial” production.

The “hemp amendment” in the 2014 farm bill—

…allows State Agriculture Departments, colleges and universities to grow hemp, defined as the non-drug oilseed and fiber varieties of Cannabis, for academic or agricultural research purposes, but it applies only to states where industrial hemp farming is already legal under state law.

In 2016, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Drug Enforcement Agency released a “statement of principles” to guide interpretation of the hemp section in the Farm Bill. It states:

After primary win, Maryland Democrat Ben Jealous shirks questions about party divides

Pressed on his party's internal divisions, Ben Jealous delivered an impressively evasive performance on MSNBC this week, shirking a conversation that's especially germane to his own candidacy.

Jealous is running in a blue state, but now faces the challenge of unseating a popular Republican governor while campaigning on a (very) progressive platform. The former NAACP president won the Democratic primary to take on Republican Gov. Larry Hogan on Tuesday. Watch Jealous squirm in this interview with Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle, who pursued a perfectly reasonable line of questions about whether far-left candidates are driving centrists away from the Democratic Party.

At one point when Ruhle accurately accused him of "not answering" their questions, Jealous hit back with the devastating response, "I mean, I am. I mean, look this is... I'm work-..." before making some vague and irrelative point about how important it is to have governors "solving real problems in real time." And the newly-minted nominee really didn't want to talk about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, side-stepping Ruhle's direct ask for his thoughts on the California Democrat "sitting at the helm" of his party.

Most Private Doctors Not Prepared to Treat Veterans - VFW

A RAND study of New York physicians found that while veterans living in the Empire State like to use doctors outside the VA, most physicians in the private sector were unfamiliar with veterans’ unique conditions

More than 800,000 veterans in New York find it difficult to get quality health care outside the VA, according to a study released in March by the RAND Corp.

The nonprofit research organization published a study called “Ready or Not: Assessing the Capacity of New York State Health Care Providers to Meet the Needs of Veterans,” and found that only 5 percent of the 746 health care providers surveyed in New York are members of the VA Community Care network. VA manages and funds a number of non-VA programs through its Office of Community Care that provides veterans with care in the community.

In New York, VA operates 12 medical centers and 48 outpatient clinics, but only about half of the state’s vets are enrolled in the VA system. And only 58 percent of those enrolled used the VA in 2015, according to the RAND report.

The authors conclude that these results mean “many” New York veterans are receiving health care in the community sector.

Michael Moore: "Wimpy And Weak" Democrats Need To Rise Up And Put Their "Bodies On The Line"

Michael Moore weighed in on the current political climate, suggesting that "wimpy and weak" Democrats need to "rise up" and resist Trump by putting their "

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his new anti-Trump documentary, the filmmaker whose lastdocumentary accidentally helped Trump win the 2016 election by delivering an unintentionally inspiring speech, said that despite inaction by many of the left "a few people want to stand up and say, I've had enough, that's it."

Moore, who says he "cries every single day when he watches the news," initially stressed "We don't have to be violent, we have to remain non-violent," only to later ask "When are people going to get off the couch and rise up?" - adding:

“Sadly, Trump is not going to leave ... He plans to be re-elected, he loves the term ‘president for life.’ The only way that we’re going to stop this is eventually we’re all going to have to put our bodies on the line. You’re going to have to be willing to do this.”

Moore also defended a Lexington, VA restaurant owner ejecting White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders one week ago.

If it were just basic political differences, Moore said he would not be in favor of throwing Sarah Huckabee Sanders out of a restaurant.

“But that’s not what’s going on now,” he said. “We’re not talking about political differences. We’re talking about thousands of children being kidnapped and put in jails.”

Hillary Refuses To Condemn The Left Becoming

Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton rejected calls of civility in a recent interview, calling for “strength and resolve” to resist President Trump.

The Guardian reports that when asked about some on the left becoming “uncivil” recently, she responded:

“‘Oh, give me a break,’ she erupts, eyes widening into indignation. ‘Give me a break! What is more uncivil and cruel than taking children away? It should be met with resolve and strength. And if some of that comes across as a little uncivil, well, children’s lives are at stake; their futures are at stake. That is that ridiculous concept of bothsideism.'”

Clinton also mocked people who call for civility in political discourse, imitating, “Well, you know, somebody made an insulting, profane remark about President Trump, and he separated 2,300 children from their families, that’s both sides, and we should stop being uncivil — oh, and, by the way, he should stop separating children.”

Annapolis Shooter Worked At Federal Agency For Three Years After Harassment Conviction

Jarrod Warren Ramos — who allegedly killed five Maryland newspaper employees Thursday — worked at the Department of Labor at the time that he was convicted of harassment in 2011 for a pattern of bizarre behavior and remained in that job until 2014.

A spokesman for the Department of Labor told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Ramos had been employed by a Bureau of Labor Statistics IT contractor and that his employment ended in 2014. He did not say on what terms the employment ended.

In July 2011, Ramos pleaded guilty to criminal harassment in a Maryland courthouse. He was initially sentenced to 90 days in jail, but served 18 months of probation and was ordered to therapy.

The Capitol Gazette, a local paper, published an article on the harassment case, headlined “Jarrod wants to be your friend.” It outlined a bizarre fixation by Ramos on a high school classmate who did not remember him, with years of Facebook messages and persistent threats.

‘I CAN’T EVEN … ‘ — HILLARY TURNS INTO A STUTTERING MESS WHEN ASKED ABOUT MELANIA TRUMP

In an interview published Friday, Hillary Clinton was asked about first lady Melania Trump and what she thought of President Trump’s immigration policy.

Clinton’s bizarre, rambling response made little sense and did not convey much information.

The Guardian’s Decca Aitkenhead writes:

“I ask how [Clinton] interpreted the jacket the first lady wore to visit a child detention centre, bearing the opaque and intriguing slogan: ‘I really don’t care, do u?’ Clinton slumps back in her chair, wide eyed, arms spread, defeated by the mystery. ‘That, I have no idea. I have no idea. I can’t even … I don’t have any idea. I don’t know.’ Does she feel sorry for the first lady? ‘I don’t know. I honestly don’t know.'”

The Guardian article also includes a quote from Clinton in which she refuses to condemn many on the left becoming “uncivil.”

Maxine Waters says she's faced increased threats, cancels attending 2 events

"There was one very serious death threat made against me on Monday from an individual in Texas which is why my planned speaking engagements in Texas and Alabama were cancelled (sic) this weekend," she continued. "This is just one in several very serious threats the United States Capitol Police are investigating in which individuals threatened to shoot, lynch, or cause me serious bodily harm."

The Democratic congresswoman received widespread criticism from both sides of the aisle after she encouraged people to publicly confront and harass members of Trump's administration in places like restaurants, department stores and gas stations.

Newspaper reporter Conor Berry resigns over false claim Annapolis shooter wore MAGA hat

Rep. Jeff Denham: Narrow bills are the strategy for fixing immigration

Rep. Jeff Denham previewed upcoming attempts on immigration reform Friday, after Republicans failed to pass their comprehensive “compromise” bill earlier this week.

“I think there are extremes on both sides that want to politicize the issue and use it for political gain,” he said on during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

The California Republican said the fight over immigration, whether it be with Democrats or fellow Republicans, is not over. He explained that on particular issues, like the Dreamer fix, there are Democrats willing to work across the aisle.

Mr. Denham explained the way forward was most likely through smaller, more narrow bills that tackle individual aspects of the overall immigration system. He said that the first bill would address the ongoing family separation issue, and the next issue on the table would be a fix for DACA, or the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

McConnell on court schedule: 'This is not 2016'

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell renewed his vow to vote on a new Supreme Court justice this fall, taking to the Senate floor Thursday to reject Democrats’ demands to put it off until next year.

Democrats, still seething over the way Republicans blocked consideration of a pick in 2016 ahead of the presidential election, say that standard should be expanded to include congressional elections as well.

Mr. McConnell said that was completely different.

“This is not 2016. These aren’t the final months of a second-term, constitutionally lame-duck presidency with a presidential election fast approaching. We are right in the middle of this president’s first term,” he said.

He said it’s more accurate to compare this year to 2010, when President Obama nominated and the Democratic-led Senate confirmed Justice Elena Kagan, or 1994, when President Clinton nominated and a Democrat-majority Senate confirmed Justice Stephen G. Breyer.

Overturn Roe v. Wade

We write not to praise Anthony Kennedy's jurisprudence, but to bury it.

Across 31 years, Justice Kennedy issued many rulings, good and bad. But his most lasting legacy was the travesty he released 26 years ago today, Planned Parenthood v. Casey. With airy, mystical reasoning, unrooted in the Constitution, the common law, or the natural law, he talked himself into saving a precedent that was indefensible legally, scientifically, and morally.

In saving Roe v. Wade in 1992, Kennedy did violence to the rule of law, and undermined the court's legitimacy and added extra poison to our politics. Casey helped transform national politics into a winner-take-all partisan death match that, over a decade, saw both parties destroy the rules of the Senate. That's before mentioning that Casey condemned tens of millions of babies to death in the womb.

Politicians are already saying in so many words that replacing Kennedy is, more than anything else, about saving or scrapping Roe and Casey.

Most news media will portray Roe as a venerable precedent, but an honest discussion of these cases should begin with an admission of the near-universal judgment among legal scholars, not just those who oppose abortion, that Roe v. Wade was a jurisprudential embarrassment.

Leftmedia: Trump Caused Newspaper Attack

Five journalists who worked at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, were murdered Thursday when an individual with a longstanding grudge against the newspaper blasted his way into the building seeking revenge for a lost 2015 defamation lawsuit he had leveled against the paper. It was personal animus against that specific newspaper, not some generalized anti-media sentiments. Nevertheless, as news of the attack quickly spread across the country, once again leftists politicized the atrocity by blaming President Donald Trump.

The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman wrote, “What happened today is sickening. This alleged gunman appears to have had a longstanding grudge against the paper and little else is known so far. But Trump is the only president in memory to call the press ‘the enemy of the people.’”

Reuters’ Rob Cox went further, angrily pontificating, “This is what happens when [Donald Trump] calls journalists the enemy of the people. Blood is on your hands, Mr. President. Save your thoughts and prayers for your empty soul.” Others joined in with similar memes.“

The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway observed, "We also didn’t see [the MSM] wonder if the media’s harsh treatment of Republicans led to the mass assassination attempt on a baseball field filled with Republican senators and members of Congress last June. They also didn’t wonder if anti-police rhetoric led to the targeted murders of various policemen in recent years. The blame game seems to work one way with traditional media sources.”

AG Sessions Is Rewriting Asylum Regulations

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is drafting a regulation that will narrow the asylum rules and likely deter many people from taking the costly and risky step of migrating towards the United States, according to Vox.com.

Vox reported that they read a draft of the regulation, which could be enacted by the end of the year:

Under the plan, people would be barred from getting asylum if they came into the US between ports of entry and were prosecuted for illegal entry. It would also add presumptions that would make it extremely difficult for Central Americans to qualify for asylum, and codify — in an even more restrictive form — an opinion written by Sessions in June that attempted to restrict asylum for victims of domestic and gang violence.

Mueller Prosecutors and Mike Flynn Agree to Third Delay in Sentencing

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will wait another two months to receive a sentence for his false statements to investigators after his defense lawyers agreed to another delay Friday with prosecutors from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office.

Flynn, who pleaded guilty in December to lying to FBI agents about the content of his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak in the presidential transition, had already agreed to two delays in sentencing with Mueller’s prosecutors. The felony charge to which Flynn has pleaded guilty carries a potential five years in prison. Given that this is Flynn’s first offence and his agreement to cooperate with investigators working the “Russia probe,” he is expected to receive significantly less time than that and may avoid incarceration altogether.

Reports in the winter indicated that Flynn’s team may be considering a withdrawal of his guilty plea and ongoing negotiations to that effect may also have provided some of the rationale for this new delay.

Goodlatte: Peter Strzok Refused to Testify About Any Talks with Fusion GPS

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) revealed that during his closed session interview with the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, former FBI official Peter Strzok refused to answer multiple questions, including whether he communicated with the author of the discredited anti-Trump dossier or with the firm paid by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to produce the infamous dossier.

Goodlatte made those revelations during the televised portion of Wednesday’s hearing.

"We went through a lot of questions about a lot of things for which we got answers, but we were also stymied time and time and time again because the FBI counsel instructed him not to answer because it was, as she called it, an ongoing investigation."

After the hearing, Goodlatte appeared on Fox News to further comment on the FBI counsel’s refusal to allow Strzok to answer certain questions. The Congressman said that some of Strzok’s testimony was “not believable” when it came to the “hateful nature” of his anti-Trump text messages.

“His explanations for … those questions about that hateful attitude are not believable,” Goodlatte told Fox News.

Ten Horrible Liberal Tweets Blaming Trump’s ‘Fake News’ and ‘Enemy of the American People’ Attacks For the Capital Gazette Shooting in Annapolis

So, it happened again. As tragedy struck, before the shooter's motive was known, Americans were already attacking one another, assuming the worst. Naturally, Trump was attacked as "full Hitler" -- because it was Thursday.

On Thursday, a middle-aged white man with a grudge targeted the Capital Gazettein Annapolis, Md. He killed five people and injured two others. Before his motives became known, both liberals and conservatives assumed a political motive. Many liberals went so far as to directly blame President Donald Trump for the shooting.

(I will not name the shooter, because the desire for notoriety drives mass shooters. You can read about him here, although it will be enough to say his motives were personal, not political.)

Most attacked President Trump's tweet from February of last year decrying "the FAKE NEWS media" as "not my enemy" but "the enemy of the American People!" This tweet directly named five mainstream media outlets, many of which received multiple "Fake News Awards" at the beginning of this year.

Never Forget: Never-Trump Would’ve Handed Democrats 6-3 Supreme Court Majority

Had the National Review, the Weekly Standard, David Frum, Rick Wilson, Jonah Goldberg, Bill Kristol, Joe Scarborough, and the rest of this morally bankrupt crew called Never Trump won the day, Democrats would be looking at a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court.

Had Never Trump got what they wanted in 2016 — a President Hillary Clinton — Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia would have already been replaced with another Ruth Bader Ginsberg, which ensured an immediate 5-4 left-wing majority. But thanks to the man Never Trump told us was not a real conservative, we got Neil Gorsuch.

If that is not enough of a real-life nightmare (as I’ll explain below), Wednesday’s retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy would have increased that already unthinkable majority to 6-3, ensuring a left-wing court rewriting the Constitution for decades to come...

Ohio boy's lawn care business goes viral after 'ridiculous' neighbor calls cops on him

A resident in a Maple Heights, Ohio neighborhood called the police on a 12-year-old boy who is spending the summer mowing lawns.

The mistake spurred that resident to call the Maple Heights Police Department, Lt. Joe Mocsiran confirmed to Fox News on Friday.

Four Things to Know About the Supreme Court Vacancy

1. This is why the American people elected President Trump.

At this time in 2016, candidate Trump had recently made public his proposed Supreme Court shortlist. The prospect of filling Justice Scalia’s seat with someone from that list of outstanding men and women – rather than a liberal activist appointed by Hillary Clinton – was the deciding factor driving many to the polls to elect Trump President. And he has made good on that campaign promise in spades, with a raft of top-flight nominees to the appellate courts as well as the crown jewel, Justice Gorsuch. Now, as Gorsuch completes his first full term on the Court, it is clear that he is the judge we all hoped he would be: smart, fair, reasonable, and independent. His commitment to the Constitution and faithfulness to the laws he is tasked with interpreting have already left their mark on the Court.

2. The next Justice, whoever he or she is, will be outstanding.

The sports teams making their draft picks would kill for the bench President Trump has. The list from which he has pledged to select the next Justice includes the best and brightest of our federal and state judges. They all have judicial records of listening to the arguments of both sides in the courtroom, delivering well-reasoned decisions, and fairly applying the law with a scrupulous adherence to the Constitution. Like Justice Gorsuch, each one of them has the wisdom and experience necessary to sit on the Supreme Court from Day One.

Coast Guard suspends search for boater who went missing near Kent Island, Maryland

BALTIMORE – The U.S. Coast Guard in Baltimore suspended the search Friday for a missing boater who went missing near Kent Island.

Kevin Yates Sr., 41, is believed to have fallen from a 40-foot powerboat Wednesday, somewhere between Kent Island and Herrington Harbor South.

The Coast Guard made the decision to suspend the search after numerous searches with multiple partner agencies since notification. Crews completed 39 searches, providing more than 870 square nautical miles of coverage.

“Our hearts go out to the family; it’s the hardest decision to suspend a search like this,” said Cmdr. Matt Fine, the deputy commander at Sector Maryland-National Capital Region. “I would like to thank the seven port partners that searched with us. With the busy boating season, I just cannot stress enough the importance of everyone onboard wearing life jackets when on the water.”

Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region received a report Wednesday at about 2:45 p.m., that Yates was missing from the 40-foot cabin cruiser. The boat owner had gotten underway with Yates, who had gone below deck in transit and when he had not reappeared about an hour later, the owner searched the boat for him.

After realizing he was no longer aboard, he called a friend on shore, who called the Coast Guard. The reporting source stated that Yates had likely fallen overboard between Kent Narrows and Herring Bay.

Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region command center launched search crews aboard boats, cutters, helicopters and coordinated search efforts with the Maryland Natural Resources Police, the Maryland State Police, Anne Arundel County Fire Department and Naval Air Station Patuxent River.

The on-scene weather, at the time of the incident, was reported as 25 knot winds, 4-to-5-foot seas and a water temperature of 75 degrees.

CNN Blames Trump For Newspaper Shooting That Had Nothing to Do With Him

Gunman’s vendetta against newspaper stretched back 7 years

CNN’s Asha Rangappa blamed Donald Trump’s rhetoric for the shooting of journalists at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis yesterday despite the fact that the gunman’s vendetta against the newspaper stretched back seven years and had nothing to do with Trump.

Armed with smoke grenades and a shotgun, Jarrod W. Ramos opened fire on journalists working at the newspaper yesterday afternoon, killing five.

Almost as soon as the shooting was reported, and with zero knowledge of the gunman’s motive, mainstream press talking heads began blaming Trump’s anti-media rhetoric.

Over Six Hundred Individuals Charged in Largest Ever Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action

Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar announced that 601 individuals are being charged in the largest ever health care fraud enforcement action.

The indictment includes 165 doctors, nurses, and other licensed medical professionals, who allegedly participated in fraud schemes amounting to more than $2 billion in false billings. One hundred and sixty-two of the defendants were charged "for their roles in prescribing and distributing opioids and other dangerous narcotics," according to a press release by the Department of Justice.

"Health care fraud is a betrayal of vulnerable patients, and often it is theft from the taxpayer," said Attorney General Jeff Sessions. He continued,

"In many cases, doctors, nurses, and pharmacists take advantage of people suffering from drug addiction in order to line their pockets. These are despicable crimes.… Today the Department of Justice is announcing the largest health care fraud enforcement action in American history. This is the most fraud, the most defendants, and the most doctors ever charged in a single operation—and we have evidence that our ongoing work has stopped or prevented billions of dollars’ worth of fraud.

Beginning today, troopers from each of the 23 Maryland State Police barracks will focus enforcement efforts on impaired driving, aggressive driving, speeding, distracted driving and other violations that often contribute to highway tragedies. Additional troopers will be working overtime assignments funded by highway safety grants from the Maryland Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

Troopers on the Eastern Shore will be directing their heaviest enforcement to Rt. 50 and Rt. 13. Impaired driving and speed enforcement will be priorities. Drivers, especially those headed to the shore, are urged to be on constant alert for pedestrians. Pedestrians are reminded to use crosswalks, obey traffic control devices and dress for visibility.

In addition to working enforcement in cooperation with local police departments, troopers will be working closely with personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration. SHA provides significant help arranging detours at crash sites and conducting courtesy patrols to assist motorists.

Drivers can check travel conditions and delays before traveling. SHA provides up-to-date traffic and road conditions at roads.maryland.gov, or chart.state.md.us. Traffic conditions are also available at md511.org, or by safely dialing 511 on your cell phone.

Troopers are urging travelers not to drive distracted and to make traffic safety their first priority whenever they are behind the wheel. Help us keep Maryland highways safe throughout this upcoming Fourth of July.

Back In The Day

A Father's Ten Commandments

Happy Fathers’ Day. Get back to work.

Even on this day, you are on the clock. Your children are watching and listening.

Thus, I offer you a Father’s Ten Commandments.

Read it with humility. That is how it was written.

God help us all.

1. Your Soul Comes First

Sounds a little selfish to put yourself before anyone else, but we’re talking your soul, your lifeblood. Dads will get all kinds of advice about spending time with their kids and being present (some of which is spelled out below), but is your presence empty of meaning? Your own soul must be nourished, if you are to nourish others. (Remember the airline instructions in case of emergencies: apply your own oxygen mask before taking care of your children.)

2. Love Your Wife

We are imperfect but love never fails (1 Corinthians 13: 8-9). It is an absolute lesson to teach your children. However, the lesson is weakened considerably if Dad does not love Mom. This is a community you’re building, based on a committed love. The lesson extends beyond creating a secure home life. Love includes respect, and if you do not respect your wife, how do you expect your sons to respect women? How do you expect your daughters to avoid men who do not respect them?

3. Your Family Comes First

Yes, the first commandment still applies. We’re talking about how you apply that soulful life of yours. Having children is not something to check off the bucket list; they are not part of your life, they areyour life. Your work is not about your fulfillment (a bonus, if it is fulfilling) but about providing for your family. Your time is now a commodity to give away — make time for the whole family, and for each of them. Schedule that time like you would for any valued appointment. Remember the stories passed on by Hospice nurses: They never heard a patient regret not winning more accolades or making more money; the wish was for more time in relationships.

New litmus test? Dems demand elimination of ICE amid immigration furor

Democratic lawmakers and candidates are increasingly seeking the elimination of Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of their suite of demands in D.C.'s heated border battle.

The calls reflect not only the deepening divide between the two partisan poles on immigration -- with one side seeking a border wall, and the other looking to dismantle the lead enforcement agency -- but the growing influence of the progressive wing.

More and more Democratic politicians have embraced such causes as 'Medicare for all' and a federal jobs guarantee. Now, they're getting behind the call to abolish ICE, with gusto.

Perhaps no 2018 moment better captured that growing influence than liberal primary challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's shocking victory Tuesday night over Rep. Joseph Crowley, D-N.Y., a member of party leadership.

Ocasio-Cortez ran on all three of those platforms, and even protested outside an ICE center in Texas.

Philadelphia releases felon despite detainer and criminal arrest warrant in place

PHILADELPHIA — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a dangerous illegal alien after he was released by the city of Philadelphia, despite an active detainer, which included a criminal arrest order signed by a federal judge.

On Thursday, June 14, 2018, ICE officers obtained a criminal arrest warrant in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania for Guillermo Leon-Sandoval for violation of 8 USC 1326(a), re-entry of a removed alien. City authorities had previously said they would honor detainers that included a criminal arrest order signed by a judge, but did not in this case.

Guillermo Leon-Sandoval, 35, has been charged by Philadelphia police with unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury; simple assault; recklessly endangering another person; and false imprisonment. The incident giving rise to these charges involved the assault of his estranged wife. Leon-Sandoval was also previously convicted of illegal entry in September 2014.

“The local government’s goal of making Philadelphia a sanctuary city will not deter us from our mission of making communities safer nationwide and honoring immigration laws,” said Gregory Brawley, acting field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia. “In this case, the individual has been charged with recent violent crimes. We will continue to pursue individuals such as this for arrest and removal.”

“I commend ICE for arresting this individual pursuant to a federal judicial arrest warrant,” said U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain. “The U.S. Attorney’s Office is committed to enforcing federal law, including, of course, our immigration laws. We will continue working with all law enforcement agencies to keep our community safe.”

ICE does not conduct sweeps, checkpoints, or raids that target aliens indiscriminately. ICE operations target public safety threats, such as convicted criminal aliens, gang members, and individuals who have violated our nation’s immigration laws, including those who re-entered the country after being removed and immigration fugitives ordered removed by federal immigration judges. Reports to the contrary create panic and put communities and law enforcement personnel in unnecessary danger. Any groups falsely reporting such activities are doing a disservice to those they claim to support.

Kamala Harris: Dem Colleagues Ready to Play ‘Hardball’

Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said her colleagues in the Senate were ready to play “hardball” to delay President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee’s confirmation to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy until after the 2018 midterms.

When asked what a Trump pick would look like, Harris said, “We are looking at a destruction of the Constitution of the United States based on all the folks he’s been appointing thus far for lifetime appointments. He’s been appointing ideologues. He’s been appointing people who have refused to agree Brown v Board of Education is settled law.he’s been appointing people not even qualified by bar associations. So this has got to be one—we all need to understand this to be one of the most serious fights we have yet to have had with this president. And we cannot relent.”

Pence to Central Americans: ‘If You Can’t Come Legally, Don’t Come at All’

Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Brazil on Tuesday with a warning message for Central Americans thinking of coming to the United States or sending their children with smugglers: “If you can’t come legally, don’t come at all.”

Pence was in Brazil meeting with President Michel Temer when he made remarks specifically addressed to Central Americans.

“To the people of Central America, I have a message for you, straight from my heart and straight from the heart of the American people,” Pence began, calling them neighbors with hopes that they will “prosper and thrive.”

“Don’t risk you lives or the lives of your children by trying to come to the United States on a road run by drug smugglers and human traffickers,” urged Pence.

“If you can’t come legally, don’t come at all,” he said firmly with a strong warning. “If someone tells you they can bring your child to America, don’t believe them. Hold on to your children.”

The Vice President urged Central Americans to “Build your lives in your homeland and be confident that your neighbors in the United States and across this new world are all working together to ensure a brighter future for all of the nations of this hemisphere.”

Leftist Anti-Trump, Soros-Funded Groups Join Open Borders Protests

The Women’s March – the same Soros-backed leftist protest group that marched to resist the duly elected President Donald Trump and pushed the anti-gun March for Our Lives – is jumping on the open borders movement in protests planned for Thursday and Saturday in Washington, D.C., and across the country.

The Women’s March Facebook page states:

We call on women from all communities to descend on our nation’s capital and demand the safety and freedom of immigrant families and children. We will put our bodies on the line to demand an end to this administration’s the zero-tolerance policy that automatically criminalizes undocumented immigrants and tears families apart, and to call on Congress to abolish ICE, an agency that is terrorizing our communities every day.

Unknown substance discoloring Baltimore's Inner Harbor

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Department of Public Works has identified the source of what discolored Baltimore's Inner Harbor Thursday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m., Baltimore DPW tweeted that material discharging into the Inner Harbor is sediment from a downtown construction project. They said the project is not being done under DPW authority.

The Mayor's Office of Emergency Management tweeted, "We are aware of the discolored water at the Inner Harbor. We are monitoring the situation. The Baltimore Fire Department is investigating. We have no additional information at this time."

The Fire Department tweeted that crews are at the scene, and "preliminary test showed no hazard or threat to anyone walking the Pavilion."

Smug Rosenstein Refuses to Tell Rep. DeSantis Whether Anyone in Obama Admin Directed Halper to Approach Trump’s Camp

DAG Rod Rosenstein smugly laughed at Rep. Ron DeSantis Thursday after the GOP lawmaker asked him why he hasn’t recused himself from the Mueller probe in the face of obvious conflicts of interest.

Rosenstein also refused to tell DeSantis whether anyone in the Obama administration directed the informant, Stefan Halper, to approach the Trump campaign.

FBI Director Christopher Wray and DAG Rod Rosenstein are on Capitol Hill Thursday publicly testifying to House Republicans over the FBI and DOJ’s mishandling of Hillary’s email investigation and Spygate.

House Republicans will also be holding a vote Thursday on a resolution demanding the DOJ comply with requests to turn over classified Trump-Russia docs or face impeachment, contempt.

Rep. Harris Urges Baltimore County Executive to Comply with Federal Immigration Law

WASHINGTON, DC: On June 28, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) sent a letter to Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler concerning the County Executive’s position on illegal immigration and border security. Congressman Harris sent this letter after County Executive Mohler wrote to the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, expressing disdain for the Trump administration’s immigration policies. Congressman Harris made the following statement regarding the letter:

“The State of Maryland has the second highest frequency of MS-13 gang activity in the nation, second only to California. I am concerned that County Executive Mohler will not comply with federal immigration law, and instead follow the policies of his predecessor and establish Baltimore County as a sanctuary for criminal illegal immigrants. No one wants to see children separated from their parents, and the federal government is taking action to keep together families detained for illegally crossing the border. But the safety of Maryland’s citizens is my top priority, and compliance with federal immigration law keeps Marylanders safe. I urge County Executive Mohler to comply with federal immigration law.”

Trump Puts ICE Protesters and “Extremist Democrats” on Notice “The Only Response They Will Find From Our Govt is LAW AND ORDER!”

President Trump put ICE protesters and “extremist Democrats” on notice late Wednesday evening in a pair of tweets.

The left is completely unhinged; they want open borders, no law and order and to abolish ICE.

Protesters across the nation have put ICE buildings under siege, blocking and harassing officers coming and going to work.

Antifa anarchists posted pictures, names and locations of ICE officers online to encourage violent protesters to hunt down officials.

A senior DHS official residing in Washington D.C., recently found a decapitated, burnt animal carcass on his doorstep.

Less is more: The rise of over-treatment in the 21st Century

The country doctor of the early 20th Century had very few tools to address patients’ complaints. Armed with a few simple medications and some basic surgical techniques, they often had to rely on reassurance and bedside manner to ease suffering.

The situation has changed. Backed with an impressive array of medical advances, the tendency is for doctors to treat aggressively. Patients’ expectations have been stoked by glowing media accounts of impressive breakthroughs against an ever-expanding list of maladies. Direct-to-consumer advertising encourages the public to “ask your health professional” about this or that cutting-edge therapy.

Overtreatment has therefore become rife; only in recent years are we coming to re-evaluate highly-touted tests, medications and procedures.

In a recent survey of physicians, “Overtreatment in the U.S.”, doctors admitted that 20.6% of overall medical care was unnecessary, including 22.0% of prescription medications, 24.9% of tests, and 11.1% of procedures. The main reasons cited were fear of malpractice (84.7%); patient request or pressure (59.0%); and difficulty accessing patient records (38.2%) Most of the physicians surveyed (70.8%) believed that doctors are more likely to perform unnecessary procedures when they profit from them.

Another recent study concluded that “5.5% of hospital admissions, 14% of hysterectomies and 10–20% of antibiotics prescribed for upper respiratory tract infections are unnecessary and could be avoided.” (Source)

Lately, there have been some notable instances of overtreatment.

Cancer: Recent papers presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) showed that aggressive treatment of certain cancers was unwarranted.

Nolte: Supreme Court Fight Will Increase Violence from Media-Sanctioned Mobs

With nothing less than the fate of the Supreme Court at stake, America’s far-left radicals and their enablers in the establishment media are about to turn bullying, intimidation, menacing, and outright violence up to 11.

As we have meticulously documented, Jeff Zucker’s CNN has spent the last five years inspiring, normalizing, encouraging, and outright calling for political violence.

Zucker and his CNN puppets (most especially Chris Cuomo and Jake Tapper) see mob justice as a legitimate political tool, a way to boost Democrat turnout, to blame their own chaos on Trump, and to terrorize their targets, including innocent police officers. And if this media-inspired violence can intimidate a few weak-kneed Republicans into voting against Trump’s upcoming Supreme Court pick, all the better.

Unfortunately for law-abiding Americans on the right and left, CNN is no longer alone. As we have witnessed during the past weeks, the rest of the establishment media have now joined CNN in its unholy crusade to justify and inspire left-wing hate mobs.

Good Riddance, Justice Kennedy

While it is true that Justice Anthony Kennedy was a disappointment to conservatives, the observation misses the point. Kennedy did not owe conservatives decisions that they liked. What all Americans deserved from him was the conscientious application of the law. That they did not get it is the true indictment of his time on the Supreme Court.

Again and again, Kennedy made rulings that aggrandized the power of the Court and of himself as its swing justice. No justice, right or left, was more willing to substitute his judgment for that of elected officials and voters. No justice was less willing to tie himself down to clear rules or a legal philosophy that would constrain him in future cases, let alone rules or a philosophy that bore a plausible relation to the Constitution. We moved toward a system of government no Founder intended, in which his whim determined policy on a vast range of issues.

House Passes Measure To Force DOJ Documents While Rosenstein Grilled In Heated Testimony

The House passed a resolution on Thursday demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) hand over a trove of sensitive documents related to the FBI's investigations into both Hillary Clinton's email probe and the Russia investigation.

The floor vote passed 226-183, representing a further escalation in an ongoing feud between Congressional investigators and the DOJ. The demand sets a July 6 deadline for outstanding materials, which Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) said on Wednesday that failure to comply could result in holding Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in contempt, or even impeachment.

Moments before the resolution was passed, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein traded barbs in a fiery exchange during Congressional testimony - with Jordan accusing Rosenstein of keeping information from Congress.

“I am not keeping any information from Congress,” Rostenstein insisted, before being cut off.

“In a few minutes, Mr. Rosenstein, I think the House of Representatives is gonna say something different,” Jordan fired back.

“I don’t agree with you … If they do, they will be mistaken,” replied Rosenstein.
