Environmental Efforts Focus On Poultry Litter

The poultry industry helps drive the economy of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, but poultry litter -- chicken manure -- has been blamed as one of the greatest contributors to pollution in the Chesapeake Bay. Large producers, farmers, and state initiatives alike are working together to lessen the industry’s environmental impact while preserving the businesses.

Anyone who is honest in this debate knows that the real source of Bay polution is the Baltimore Washingtom metroplex....but it's much easier and politically pragmatic for politicians to target sparsley populated areas like the Eastern Shore.

What's absurd is that all we are really doing is exporting the poultry industry to Delaware and Virginia...which also are contigous to the Bay watershed...so the so the alleged pollution continues and our local economy is weakened.....very logical..you just have to wonder what these regulators are thinking.
