Troopers Searching For Suspect In Dorchester County Stabbing


(HURLOCK, MD) – State troopers are searching for a suspect wanted for stabbing a Dorchester County man this morning in Hurlock.

The victim is identified as Dewayne Camper, 53, of Hurlock, Maryland. Camper was transported by ground to Easton Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Shortly after midnight this morning, troopers from the Easton Barrack received a 9-1-1 call for a stabbing on the 4,000 block of Russell Road in Hurlock. Camper told police he was walking home when he was attacked. After the incident occurred, he continued his walk home where his girlfriend attempted to help him stop the bleeding while they called police. Emergency medical services personnel responded and transported him to Easton Memorial.

Investigators from the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division responded to continue the investigation. Camper was unable to provide a description of the attacker at this time.

The search for the suspect is continuing. State Police investigators ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information relevant to this case, to contact Easton Barrack at 410-822-3101.
