Katherine Ross Ridenhour, 23, an educator at Cox Mill High School in Concord, N.C., allegedly had a consensual relationship with a 17-year-old male student, FOX46 reported.
The Concord Police Department said Ridenhour and the student had “inappropriate contact” several times during the last month and a half at the school, FOX46 reported.

I can't understand where all of these women teachers are coming from. When I was a kid/young adult we sometimes saw teachers in the news for sexual assault but most of the time it was a male teacher and female student. In the past 10 years, it seems like every week there is a new female teacher that is being charged with sexual assault of a male student. What is it ladies, can't compete in the big girl market, want to raise them up right, what? I truly do not understand. Some of them go as far as to assault 10 or 11-year-olds. SMH

In North Carolina it is criminal. Not because of the student's age. The age of consent there is 16. Its against the law because she was his teacher: "No employee of a K-12(unless they are not a teacher, administrator, student teacher, safety officer, or coach) may engage in sexual activity with a student , unless they are married, regardless of age." We really don't want students to be sexually with their teachers.
