A hunter in western New York shot and killed a woman out walking her dogs Wednesday evening after mistaking her for a deer, officials said.
Thomas Jadlowski, 34, believed he saw a deer in a field about 200 yards away from him when he shot Rosemary Billquist in the hip with a high-powered pistol. The 43-year-old woman was walking her two Labrador Retrievers in the field behind her home in Sherman.
Rushing toward Billquist after hearing her scream, Jadlowski called 911 and applied pressure on her wound until paramedics arrived. Billquist was taken to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Erie, Pa., where she was pronounced dead.

He should never be allowed to own a firearm for life, and be charged for manslaughter.the dumb a$$.
That's not a "hunter" when he's disobeying two laws. He needs to be charged with his crimes and suffer the consequences.
I've been hunting for 60 years , this should be considered a major crime . These guys who hunt deer with a pistol are some sick ass people just trying to prove a point. This guy should never be allowed to hunt or own a firearm . I don't gun hunt anymore because of this crap , Maryland is full of drunk hunters who think it's party time . Totally sickening !!
A 200 yard shot with a pistol . This just crazy . 200 year shot with a rifle is very hard , how can you even see a deer at 200 yards . Throw the book at this idiot!! You can run , but you can't hide.
it says no charges filed as of yet, but surely there will be. She was walking her dog on private property and he shot after dusk. Tragic accident for sure, but this guy needs to be punished.
I bought my wife a set of antlers for Christmas.
