Comey: Asking Clinton About Lies to Congress Could Prove Intent

FBI Director James Comey acknowledged Thursday that asking Hillary Clinton why she told the FBI and Congress differing stories about her private email server would have been helpful in establishing criminal intent.

Comey said Tuesday that he would not recommend charges because the agency could not prove Clinton had criminal intent with regard to mishandling of classified material.

At the outset of his questioning, Rep. Mick Mulvaney pointed out the exchange Comey had earlier with his colleague Rep Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.) about the litany of statements Clinton made regarding her email server that were untrue. This included testifying before Congress last October that she did not send or receive email marked classified on her private email.

“When she met with you folks on Saturday last week, I take it she didn’t say the same things at that interview?” Mulvaney asked.

“I’m not equipped sitting here without the 302 in front of me … We do not have a basis for concluding that she lied to the FBI,” Comey said.

“Gotcha. Did anybody ask her on Saturday why she told ya’ll one thing and told us another?” Mulvaney asked.

“I don’t know as I sit here … I’ll figure that out,” Comey said.

Having 1000's of dollars of private computer server equipment in your bedroom closet shows INTENT idiots.
You can't perform top level Government business on an amateur server.

For a man whose reputation was untarnished and known for his thorough investigative prowess, this seems highly suspect. How could he not be at the interview with the main suspect? He doesn't seem like the kind of man who would leave this to junior or senior agents without being present. Second, why didn't the administer an oath or recording of interview? Sounds nefarious in nature. Like theater the democrats cried yesterday to subvert Congress. Comey is derelict in his duty for not looking at her multitude of fabrications and fables both publicly and to Congress in sworn testimony. Most beat cops would factor lying as a proof for intent of criminal mind as to mask guilt! Honest people don't generally lie.

Something still doesn't sit right with this whole situation. More and more I wonder if his family's lives were threatened. He did say the two things that were most important to him were his family/friends and his word. Look at all the women and former associates who have come forth about Hillary Clinton's coercive and intimidative behaviors. She's a bully and she sends her emissary (Bill) to soft shoe things when in fact she's the devil behind the curtain. And I watched the whole hearing, he was visibly uncomfortable and fidgeting. This man is known for being a rock, unshakable yet yesterday and Tuesday for that matter, he was visibly shaken. You can tell he knows what he's saying is BS. He can't help his unconscious body language! It's one form we communicate with that can't lie.

Lying to congress is supposed to be a felony, where are the federal marshals?

10:40AM, patience, young grasshopper. Congress sent a referral this morning for the FBI to officially investigate perjury committed by Clinton when she testified to Congress about Benghazi. Gowdy and Chaffetz already had it drafted yesterday before the hearing.
