What I'm interested in is who is running the show over in OC and at the OCPD?
Whoever it is needs to be fired immediately. They've just announced to the world that OC will be operating with 30 less police officers this summer. How stupid can you get.
How profoundly and utterly stupid!
They may of well have sent a personal invitation to every felon within a 200mi radius to come to OC and commit a crime.
My question is this, was Bob Culver invited to this "meeting" more than a week ago so he could bring something to the table?
I'll bet not!
Just a batch of idiots spewing vitriol on a 24 hour notice! LOL!
Who would ever go see that?
fat pos rick-o-lard hoppes
City of Salisbury Fire Department needs to clean house of their drug and alcohol dependent employees. The volunteers do a better job and have more passion. But since Hoppes has skeletons in his closet that will never happen. He will ride the storm.
What did Hoppes, Ireton, and city attorney Wilbur do about this 5 or so years ago when Debbie Campbell brought it up? NOTHING. not really nothing, they chose to look the other way. Campbell wanted it dealt with for the benefit of taxpayers and residents. Ireton for political show. He doesn't care about us nor does the council "leadership."
It's all because they have s**t to blackmail each other!

This wasn't a priority 5 yrs ago and only became so when a republican was elected as the county executive and the mayor could use this as a tool to show off.
This is something that should have happened years ago as everyone's #1 concern is related to public safety except the mayor, it seems.
If this doesn't show everyone how incapable and incompetent he is then his supporters are as much a lost cause as he is.
This must be a plan to increase revenue in the fire department budget. What would fat fire chief want with the money that the volleys can't buy him..... More paid staff. Could this whole political move be a way to fund the new mini career 16 on naylor and brown st with a paid staff. Or maybe it's a move to start getting unmarked fire trucks to match the his unmarked chief car.
Enough money has been spent foolishly with the fire department. There is soooo much in station 16 that they had to have but it is not being utilized. I am so sick of the buddy system. Get rid of the old and hire new who enjoy their job. There are so many screw ups employed there. Clean the slate!
Bob Should serve notice to the city and kick jimmy out of the GOB. Bet there behind on their rent, but that would lower Bob to jimmy's level.
IF THE CITY DOES NOT WANT TO RUN IN THE COUNTY WITHOUT THE MONETARY BENEFIT SO BE IT. BUT YOU AINT
GONNA SEE IT HAPPEN. Know why? RUNNING OUT OF THE CITY IS A BOON TO THE EMS BILLING. SFD IS AFRAID OF LOSING THIS CASH COW.
