If You Can't Say Something Nice..........
Ok guys enough with the person attacks on others that are making comments. If you disagree, so be it, but the name calling has got to stop. We want people to be able to express their opinions freely without someone else belittling them. We get many comments in that are really good comments and they end by calling someone a name that is usually a curse word and the comment gets rejected. If your only reason to comment is to insult someone it will not be published anymore.

In other words be original.
Years ago I copied this Judy Garland quote on a postcard and I carry it around in my coat pocket-
"Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, and a little more loving, have a little more empathy, and maybe - next year at this time - we'd like each other a little more."
people think they are invincible and post whatever false statements they want because they are anonymous.
You reap what you sow.
"I Promise Myself To Give So Much Time To Improving Myself That I Have No Time To Criticize Others." Rhonda Byrne
You are starting to understand the eastern shore Joe. If someone looks, talks, thinks or has an idea that is different from that of the local populous, they are called names, discriminated against and belittled.
The greatest fear in the world is of the opinions of others. And the moment you are unafraid of the crowd you are no longer a sheep.
Most people do not listen with the intent to understand
I'll be good, promise!
@3:01, spend some time travailing and you will find that's universal, not just the shore, so no need to belittle those from this area ;)
You are right 3:22, it's called human nature. If anything people around here are more tolerant or at least not so vocal. Spend some time in Northern VA right outside of DC. God forbid you say something that does not conform with the PC crowd up there. I was up there for last years Super Bowl for a party and some in the crowd were actually offended because Ray Lewis was thanking God! They (self professed progressive liberals) were literally cringing at his words and making derogatory comments.
Really, If folks are upset with the Eastern Shore why don't they just simply leave...move back to where they came from originally, I'm sure we will make out fine...we did before you arrived.
4:12 that's a humorous statement since recent economics have revealed a sinking ship
3:01 PM
unfortunately, you are correct.
and saying it is universal justifies it?
be different. be nice.
4:12 PM
My friend, I second your comments.
Really, 3:01? In the spirit of this thread, I'll respond gently. You seem to feel you have the qualifications and the right to pass judgement on the population of an entire geographic area. Maybe the problem isn't with everybody else - maybe you are 'belittled' because of your astounding arrogance. Quite possibly, the one with the problems is you.
@3:22
My passport is full of stamps from other countries and I own homes in 3 different states as well as 1 in another country. Have traveled plenty and since I retired in my 40's, still have plenty of traveling to do. I stand by my statement an am sorry that you choose to attack me personally for my opinion of the E. Shore. BTW, I did leave even though I still have a home on the water in Wicomico co. and am very happy not paying MD taxes anymore. THe more of us that you want to run off the worse it is going to be there. I recently open another business and guess what? None of you are getting those jobs because it is not in MD. Good Luck!
@5:04
It took 20+ years for my family to get "accepted" by the locals. I was a small child when we moved here. Any arrogance, belittling, or intolerance for the area was learned not brought here. It is a truly beautiful area and I enjoy spending sometime visiting my home. It is a shame that the desire to run off anyone not born at PGH or PRMC as its now called is a shame and a blackeye on the area.
Why don't you publish it, but with redacted words, so that the rest of the good comment does get published?
Bob Thompson, BECAUSE WE ARE NOT YOUR BABYSITTING SERVICE. Act and write like adults or simply get rejected.
@5:08
If you felt that comment was a personal attack then I can see why you would be easily offended. Say what you want but we all have our experiences and mine have been that it's universal.
3:01 yep I stand with you
5:08, sensitive much? If you think that was a personal attack, you should stay on this blog awhile. Your arrogant reply to an innocent observation is typical of those who bash the Shore and don't really get us at all.
Little do the "come here's" know, we didn't have all of these problems before you all came here.
I'm 36 and it just blows my mind how downhill it has gone since I was a teenager.
There was no need to lock houses and cars up. We had very very few homeless people and it was seldom there were serious crimes committed. There were some rough neighborhoods in Salisbury, but there were only that, rough, not deadly.
9:04, Amen!
30 years ago this was call The Land of Pleasant Living, then all of you moved here. Ain't so pleasant anymore is it?
9:04 thats a funny statement. I heard that at one time long before the come heres that E Church st was an absolute ghetto and that the neighbors would not even venture out at night. but hey, its all their fault.....this isnt mayberry. never was, never will be.
it will always be small minded here.
