Wicomico County Executives Office Tries To Rally Troops But Fails

While the pressure has been on from Salisbury News and no one else, Rick Pollitt came to the County Council asking them to support an incredible pay increase for the Honorable Judges of the Orphans Court, it failed.

His request was to write a letter to the State in support of raising their pay from $6,400.00 a year to $9,500.00 a year. While the State sets their salaries, what most people do not know is that the County Taxpayers actually pay their salaries.

It was presented to the County Council on Monday and the Council majority told the Executives Office, NO.

Look, there's a pattern here, with ALL due respect. Pollitt is looking at his last term, should he get re elected. He is looking for a $15,000.00 a year pay increase. Sheriff Lewis will be vested in this up and coming election and he is looking and asking for a $10,000.00 pay increase. Then there's the Orphan Court Judges, one of which is Rick Pollitt's 1st Cousin.

ALL of these raises are being introduced BEFORE the next election. If you just look at how the County Council reacted on this matter, many of which are up for election and or re election, this is just too hot a topic. Mind you, it isn't in the rest of the Main Stream media because as usual they are trying NOT to inform the public until AFTER it has been decided upon.

Rick Pollitt will still send the state a letter of support from his Office, (Go Figure). I personally think ALL of these salaries should go up for referendum and I'm pretty confident the taxpayers footing the bill will clearly tell our elected officials to go pound sand.

Maybe every year should be an election year? Once it becomes too much like work, the uninformed will back away.

But, this fat f ker won't give a decent pay raise to the employees who work in Wicomico. But, he will try to give HIS family, friends and associates a pay raise. All in the families, Good 'ole boys system at it's best. Folks need to CAST THERE VOTES for better leaders.

No such thing as a good politician.

Pollitt is doing nothing but trying to look out for his supporters. Melissa Pollitt Bright is his first cousin and Barkley is tied to the NAACP. The people of Wicomico County better start speaking up. There is a council meeting tonight show up and raise hell while you can still afford to live here.

You are quick to crucify, but is it possible the Orphans Court judges are deserving of a pay increase? When was their last one and how does their salary compare to the rest of the state? Is anyone interested in these facts, or do we just want another reason?

2:07 Fact is we are overspending, I don't care when their last raise was, don't like it quit! I bet people will stand in line all night for a job like that. If they want raises, make cuts somewhere else to fund it.

Obviously, you don't care what the other counties are paying. It might make this request seem reasonable. You suck!

Day 2

9:34, do you really think that Bob Culver or any other super right republican that manages to become county executive will ever give the employees a raise? NO. It is obvious that they hate the employees.

Does anyone know the salary of any of the other local council salaries? Just curious. Salisbury, Delmar, Fruitland? Anyone?

Isn't that what Grover Cantwell is running for?
