BALTIMORE — Baltimore police Officer Caesar Goodson was acquitted Thursday of the most serious charges among the six officers charged in Freddie Gray's death.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams announced his verdict Thursday morning on the following seven counts:
Second-degree murder, depraved heart: NOT GUILTY
Manslaughter: NOT GUILTY
Second-degree assault: NOT GUILTY
Vehicular manslaughter (two counts): NOT GUILTY
Reckless endangerment: NOT GUILTY
Misconduct in office: NOT GUILTY

Everyone is worried about rioting. Anyone with a brain knows that no rioting would start until after 6pm. All of the "offended citizens" are still sleeping, while everyone else is working, and won't get out of bed until late this afternoon to begin their "pharmaceutical sales" this evening.

As it should be for all those charged. Anyone with a bit of common sense would know to sit low if you were being tossed around, even a little bit, in a box moving down the road. I believe it was self inflicted hoping to sue the city!
Will these officers get reinstated with backpay when they are all found not guilty? I hope so. When they are reinstated they all need to sue Mosby for wrongful prosecution, have her disbarred and kicked out of office.

So far 4 of the officers have filed lawsuits against the SA. All of them have sent the court an intention to sue notice. The intent to sue notices were filed shortly after the charges were brought against them.

The other occupant of the van told police he heard Freddie hitting his head against the wall. Freddie tried to hurt himself so he’d go to the hospital instead of jail or to make a case of police brutality. He succeeded too well. Good riddance.

Major Cogen has just filed an affidavit saying, in essence, “I didn’t do nuffin!” – throwing Mosby under the bus. Remember Mosby in her announcement of the charges claimed her office and the Sheriff's Office ran "a parallel investigation" with the BPD. Major Cogen says this never happened.
More news from Balto today reveals that a pending DOJ (Obama-Lynch) report on Balto police reform will cost the city between $6 – $20 million to implement the DOJ mandated reforms.
Additionally, the city has spent already $41 million on police overtime this year, $25 million over budget. Who is keeping track of the cost of this dysfunction?
I checked overnight stats. 30 homicides in Baltimore City in last 30 days. One a Day, just like the vitamins. Many more injured and maimed because the thugs seem to have such poor aim.

Judge Williams’ remarks were being reported a sentence at a time on twitter when the verdict was read. He really nailed it. He pointed out all of the failings of the prosecution’s case. Mosby reported to be shaking her head during the reading.
It's going to be interesting to see how this evolves. Either Mosby cuts her losses now or she, and whats left of her career, suffers through losing all 6 cases.
Judge Williams has pretty much made clear (by allowing 3 to proceed) that he doesn't intend to dismiss any of the cases. He will force Mosby to eat the consequences of her unethical conduct. She created this monster, she must be the one to deal with it and lay it to rest…..Williams is not going to take the bullet for her by dismissing any of the charges. Besides if he does dismiss double jeopardy doesn't attach and the charges could be refiled.

Williams’ reasoning for across the board acquittals is good. He deconstructed the prosecution's entire case; said there were at least five equally probable scenarios for what happened. He speaks of the standard: Beyond a reasonable doubt and to the exclusion of any other reasonable hypothesis.
Just to let everyone know Officer Goodson will remain suspended from the PD but with the acquittal his pay will be restored for the first time since the charges were filed. He can apply for 1 year of back pay.
2:29 Mosby's husband did file for mayor of Baltimore but dropped out after showing consistently of single digits in pre election polling. His name was still on the ballot in the recent primary and he got 2 percent of the vote. He's done and so is she.......as far as politically.

This was not a racist issue from the start people. If you look at those officers charged they were of both races. This was political corruption at it's best. Mosby and Blake sought the headlines. They knew they would get above the fold all over America. The system tried to make Ferguson the poster child until all the lies came out and it fell apart. This is an attack on American Law Enforcement. In the millions of contacts the police have with criminals you are going to have fatalities. It is the cost of doing business in a free society. These hoods would be executed or incarcerated in most countries.
The Law Enforcement system in America has been put on trial. I agree there are some cops that should be under the jail. The vast majority do the right thing all the time. Enough is enough the police need to to police themselves. In cases where an officer commits a crime they need to be tried just like any other citizen. The bottom line is they are just citizens.
