BREAKING NEWS

Mayor Jim Ireton has asked that the City Council to INCREASE the Water and Sewer Fund to pay for litigation.

Get this, rumor is, he wants a LOT more than a $500,000.00 INCREASE.

Oh, it's so nice to be Paul Wilber and Co.....

Let the Daily Times, WBOC and WMDT games begin. Once again, Salisbury News breaks the stories and the MSM is like toilet paper, wiping up the rear.

Let Barrie Tilghman, Gary Comegys, Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart and Shanie Shields pay for it. They are the reason we have this dog (apologies to dogs).

The Council probably doesn't have much choice on this one.

This is a bogus story. There is no way Ireton is that stupid.

Wilber was a key part of the "team" that got the City into this fiasco.

Once again, he screws the taxpayers both ways - going and coming.

How many years does she have to gone before you all stop blaming Barrie for everything you don't like? Give it a rest, folks; there are plenty of new faces on whom to blame things. LOL!

anonymous 6:41, she will live on forever, as long as this Blog is alive. "99% compliant" and on time and under budget. How's it working for you Barrie?

6:41 -

This is Barrie's gift to Salisbury, face it.

BTW -- remember how she and Bubba were bragging "on time - under budget" a few years ago?

6:41, the new council didn't vote for that fiasco of a wastewater plant and lie about it. Barrie and her puppets own that one forever.

I've heard from a friend of Jim's we may be looking at $8 mil+ to help settle the problem!

I bet litigation costs more then the fixes. Is there anywhere online we can see the costs and payments made concerning this project? Seems very fishy to me and if anything could use a little transparency it's this project. (get it fishy, cause they were busted polluting the wicomico river bigtime)

Thanks Again SBY, great reporting!!!

... and the city council ran straight to Albero first? You report it first because you are the majority of the council's weapon

"Rumor has it," does not a story make. After you get your facts and figures straight I will revisit. In the meantime MSM has to get facts before writing a story, so I will see what they have to say.

AWE, did I piss off the MSM again!

You want facts and figures, come here tomorrow and I'll deliver them. In the mean time, facts, Ireton wants $667,500.00.

MSM would even go there with this. And to add to 4:09,the cow is dead with flies!

Barrie and the Dream Team of Phil Tighlman are the ones that stepped in "It."

Why blame the current council with the exception of Shanie Shields.

The states attorney's office should be asked to investigate this once and for all.

I'm sure many businesses including the Evolution Beer guys aren't going to be very happy. If I were them I wouldn't move a thing from Delmar to here until some things get settled.

Ireton is way over his head. I think the next petition should be to recall Ireton and rid Salisbury of this clown.

I hate to tell you so but I told you so!

Somebody signed that contract to approve the faulty WWTP design and somebody also allowed this $80 million Rube Goldberg project to only be insured for $1 million. Now we are screwed.

The city doesn't have a leg to stand on in court. Wilber needs to go, cut his legs off at the knees the idiot.

This would not be an issue if we had Campbell, Cohen and Spies on the council at that time!

After we get a new city attorney the city should sue Paul Wilber for being incompetent.

How much have we given the City Attorney in legal fees on this case? Enough to buy a new house? Funny how the same attorney that worked for Barrie is now working for Jimbo to cover up the past mistakes.

Doesn't the city carry insurance for lawsuits?

My understanding is Bright is suing for freedom of information. After the info is gathered, studied, ask for more info, studied some more, lawyers haggle back and forth, we are talking a few years down the road. Jim will be gone so won't need to ask for funds. It will be a new Mayor's problem. Am I assessing this all wrong?

Yeah the city has insurance, it's called taxpayers. For sale sign goes up next week. Everything is for sale at a price.
