William Gordy, Eric Cropper, introduced as BOE members

Newly elected Worcester County Board of Education members, William Gordy and Eric Cropper, took an Oath of Office on Jan. 20.

Gordy and generations of his family have completed or still go to school in the Worcester County system. In addition, Gordy taught criminal justice and forensic science at Worcester Technical High School for more than 17 years.

“Besides my family, there is nothing else I’ve enjoyed more in life than teaching,” Gordy said.

Gordy, born and raised in Snow Hill, believes being a lifelong resident of Worcester County will help with his board member duties.

An elected school board supposedly being better is an illusion. The schools are controlled by the federal and state Dept's of Ed. Elected board members come under the spell of the grant money that is dangled over their heads and submit to whatever it is, the state and federal government dictates.
