Cops aren't your friends. They ain't paid to be nice. Avoid any and all contact. You might stay out of trouble.

Maybe if the Maryland State Police stopped parking their cruisers with the left front quarter protruding into the traffic lane this would not happen.
The should also turn off their blinding rear facing flashing lights to make them a less conspicuous target.

There's a new law in Maryland in which you are not allowed to drive in the slow lane with an emergency/police vehicle on the shoulder.

I am aware of that insidiously stupid Law.
When was the last time you heard about a collision with an inconspicuous unattended vehicle parked on the shoulder of a highway?
I even asked that question of a Maryland Transportation Authority Police Officer.
Without actuality admitting it, he hinted that that police cruisers parked on shoulders displaying emergency lights are struck more often then unattended vehicle.
Because drunks and fools love to stare at the lights mouth breather. No the police are not your freaking pals. We are not paid to kiss you ass just protect it. Play with that sand John
