On 6/23/2017 at approximately 0347 hrs, MSP Berlin barrack was dispatched to the area of US 113 @ Rt 610 for a motor vehicle collision. Upon making contact with the driver, Robert Boyle Jr a deputy from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office observed in plain view a loaded Ruger SP101 handgun in the subject’s waistband. The trooper and deputy where able to remove the handgun without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a second loaded handgun in a lunchbox which was seated on the passenger’s seat of the vehicle. Boyle was transported to PRMC for injuries he sustained during the motor vehicle collision. Both handguns were seized and placed into evidence. The Maryland Gun Center was contacted and after conducting an investigation determined the gun was not stolen. Boyle will be charged with two counts of handgun in vehicle and two counts of handgun in person. Charges are pending and Boyles will be taken in front of the district commissioners once released from hospital.

LGBT Community Now DEMANDING Permanent ‘Rainbow Crosswalks’ In Cities Across The Country
Activists are goading local lawmakers to make the crosswalks by what? Petitions, of course. Presently, one of the cities being bombarded with the petition is Chicago. That petition is now widespread there and has earned more than 4,000 signatures. According to the petition’s self-serving goal, tax-paid rainbow crosswalks are going to make things better…at least until the next demand, “Some cities, like San Francisco, have made LGBTQ people feel more at home by creating permanent rainbow crosswalks to honor the LGBTQ community. … This is one small thing that could be done to signal to one of the most marginalized communities in the country that we are here for them, we see them, and we support them.”

A certain familiarity as the first African-American attorney general. There’s a justified perception that I’m close to President Obama. So I want to use whatever skills I have, whatever notoriety I have, to be effective in opposing things that are, at the end of the day, just bad for the country.
“Now is the time to be more visible,” Holder added. “Now is the time to be heard.”

McDonald's Stock Hits High on Plan to Replace Cashiers With Kiosks
Cowen says McDonald's will upgrade 2,500 restaurants to its "Experience of the Future" technology by year-end, which includes digital ordering kiosks, CNBC reported.
The firm also raised its rating on McDonald's to outperform from market perform and price target for the shares to $180 from $142.
McDonald's shares rallied 26 percent this year through Monday compared to the S&P 500's 10 percent return. Near midday McDonald’s shares were at $154 after earlier hitting $ 155.28.
Andrew Charles from Cowen cited plans for the restaurant chain to roll out mobile ordering across 14,000 U.S. locations by the end of 2017, CNBC explained.

Baltimore businesses destroyed during riots sue city officials for failing to prevent violence
Dozens of Baltimore business owners are suing city officials, including the police department and former Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, saying they mishandled the city's response to the rioting in 2015.
In a nearly 700-page complaint filed in federal court this week, more than 60 plaintiffs say city officials failed to prevent the looting and rioting that erupted after the arrest and death of Freddie Gray in April 2015, despite warnings the city would experience violence.
More than 380 businesses, including many located south of North Avenue in West Baltimore, were damaged or destroyed. Property losses were estimated at nearly $13 million.
The plaintiffs are suing under the Maryland riot act statute, which allows parties to bring a claim against the city for property damage during civil unrest. They name Rawlings-Blake and former Police Commissioner Anthony Batts, who were in office at the time of the riots, current Mayor Catherine Pugh, the City Council, city police and the state as defendants. They are seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

Lying about in the middle of the street is the hot new way to protest. The not-so-subtle obstruction of traffic patterns and the inconvenience caused to motorists is intended to draw attention to issues. But some motorists have had their fill of the protests and are staging protests of their own, like this motorcyclist who rode through a recent crowd in San Francisco.
The protest took place in front of the San Francisco Federal Building. They protestors were holding a “die-in” to highlight Trump’s new healthcare bill.

OCPD Arrest Man for Assault on an Undercover Officer
On Sunday, June 18, 2017 at approximately 12:30 a.m. an Ocean City Police sergeant was working in a covert capacity patrolling on foot in the area of 3rd Street and Baltimore Avenue as part of a robbery suppression detail. While investigating a nearby disturbance, the sergeant was confronted by a male who brandished a knife and began approaching the covert officer.
The sergeant immediately identified himself as a police officer, drew his departmental firearm, and began giving commands to the suspect. After ignoring the officer’s commands several times, the suspect finally dropped the knife to the ground but continued to approach the officer. The suspect was then taken into custody by the sergeant with the assistance of additional responding officers.
The suspect was identified as Jordan J. Kuzma, 19, of Baltimore, MD. Kuzma has been charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, and possession of an assisted opening knife within the Town of Ocean City. Kuzma was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and released after posting $20,000 bond.

President Trump announced Wednesday night that he will soon ask Congress to pass legislation banning immigrants from accessing public assistance within five years of entering the U.S.
“The time has come for new immigration rules that say ... those seeking immigration into our country must be able to support themselves financially and should not use welfare for a period of at least five years," Trump told a campaign-style rally in Grand Rapids, Iowa.
Trump's proposal would build on the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, which allows federal authorities to deport immigrants who become public dependents within five years of their arrival.
Trump's proposal would also prevent the admission of people who are likely to become so-called "public charges" within five years of their arrival. The concept of "public charge" has been part of U.S. immigration law for over a century. It allows the government to bar entry to individuals who are likely to seek public assistance. Michael Brown's Parents Settle Wrongful Death Lawsuit With Ferguson, Mo.
Brown, who was African-American, was shot and killed by a white police officer in August 2014.
As we reported, Brown's parents filed a civil lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, former police chief Thomas Jackson and former police officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed the unarmed 18-year-old.
The lawsuit claimed Wilson "unjustifiably shot and killed" Brown, using "an unnecessary and unreasonable" amount of force.

OCPD Charges Two with Multiple Counts of Theft 6-21-17
OCEAN CITY, MD – (June 21, 2017): Two suspects from Prince George’s County were recently arrested by the Ocean City Police Department after officers found that they were in possession of stolen items from several different victims.
On June 15, 2017, officers were dispatched to the area of 4th Street and Washington Lane for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Officers viewed surveillance footage and broadcast a description of the suspects to officers nearby. Later that day, officers located the suspects in the area of Dorchester Street and the boardwalk. The two were identified as Michael W. Allen, 27, of College Park, MD, and Aitana L. Garrison, 20, of Laurel, MD.
During a search of Allen’s person, officers located multiple credit cards and identification cards belonging to several different people. At that time, Allen and Garrison were placed under arrest. Officers then responded to the suspect’s vehicle in the area of 4th Street and Washington Lane. During a search of the vehicle, officers located additional stolen items belonging to several separate victims.
Allen has been charged with theft scheme of $1,000 to under $10,000, four counts of theft less than $1,000, two counts of theft less than $100, and rogue and vagabond. Garrison has been charged with theft scheme of $1,000 to under $10,000 and four counts of theft less than $1,000. Allen and Garrison were both seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and released on personal recognizance.

During a Facebook live Q & A with fellow progressive crank Elizabeth Warren on Monday, Sanders told a supporter named “Mary” that liberals need to take “unprecedented” action to stop Republicans.
“We gotta stand up and fight back,” Sander said. “We have gotta be involved in the political process in a way that we have never been before because what is happening now in Washington is unprecedented.”
Pointing at the camera, Sanders said, “You have got to, Mary, act in an unprecedented way. Think big. Get involved in every way that you can.”

Baltimore City running low on opioid overdose remedy
Baltimore health officials are running low on naloxone, the opioid overdose reversal drug used hundreds of times by bystanders in the last couple of years to save lives.
Dr. Leana Wen, the city health commissioner, said demand has jumped significantly along with the drug epidemic and the health department needs funding for more supplies.
"We are rationing," she said. "We're deciding who is at the highest risk and giving it to them."
The city has about 4,000 doses left to last until next May. The department will distribute them, two at a time, to residents, including IV drug users encountered by the city's needle exchange vans or by outreach workers in "hotspots," areas where a spate of overdoses recently occurred.
"If I had 10,000 doses and gave them to everyone who requested them, I'd run out in about two weeks," Wen said.

Breaking News: Otto Warmbier, the U.S. student held by North Korea, has died
In a statement, Mr. Warmbier’s family said the 22-year-old died on Monday at 2:20 p.m.
“Unfortunately, the awful torturous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today,” the statement said.
How Could The Navy Destroyer Collision Happen?
As the Navy family grieves, both it and the wider world are asking the same question: How did this happen?
The short answer is that no one knows — yet. The official inquiries into what led up to the encounter could take months or more. The Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard both likely will eventually issue reports that describe what happened and could make recommendations for preventing another such accident.

One of the problems we face today is the young ones coming out of college expecting to start at the top of the food chain rather than paying their dues and working there way up. Salisbury government is no exception to this general sentiment. Mayor Jake Day has purposefully been going through, slicing and dicing people from the payroll to make room for the college grads fresh out of school.
Could this be a coordinated effort with Dr. Dudley-Eshbach? It wouldn't be a shock horror if this were found to be the case. She is already under scrutiny (and heat) because college graduates are having the most difficulty find employment in the tough economy of the last seven years.

Pretty much the same song is sung with City Administrator Julia Glanz. She came here from Long Island, New York to go to Salisbury University; got her two degrees and went directly into government.

Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz to file James Comey complaint early as next week
President Trump's legal team plans to file its complaint against former FBI Director James Comey with the Justice Department inspector general and the Senate Judiciary Committee as early as next week.
A source close to Trump outside counsel Marc Kasowitz's team said they are "looking toward next week" to file the complaint. Lawyers are working to make sure the submissions are "thorough and complete," the source told the Washington Examiner on Friday.
Trump's legal team began planning to file a complaint against Comey after his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this month.
In his testimony, Comey said the White House defamed him and expressed concern that Trump "might lie" about the nature of one of their meetings. The fired FBI director also admitted to sharing memos he had written detailing his conversations with Trump with a friend so that he would release them to the press.
Following the testimony, Trump accused Comey of lying and leaking information.
"Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication...and WOW, Comey is a leaker!" Trump tweeted.

15,000 cited for illegally passing Montgomery Co. school buses
Figures released this month show that 15,446 drivers were ticketed over the course of the latest school year, 2016-2017.
That is compared to fewer than 3,000 tickets issued during the previous year.
“It’s just horrifying,” said Todd Watkins, transportation director for the county’s school system. “You know in your heart what that could have ended up being. That could have ended up being a dead child.”

No easy way to measure federal employee compensation, CBO says
There’s no easy to way to calculate just how much government spends on federal employee compensation, and there’s no simple solution if lawmakers want to find ways to close compensation gaps between the public and private sector.
That’s the general message the Congressional Budget Office recently sent in a series of responses to the Senate Budget Committee’s questions for the record following a May hearing on “ways to run the government for less.” During that hearing, some senators focused on CBO’s latest study comparing federal employee compensation to the private sector.
CBO found a 17 percent compensation disparity between federal employees and their counterparts in the private sector, according to its April 2017 report. Moving the federal workforce to a defined contribution plan may partly close the gap between the public and private sectors, though the government wouldn’t see the savings immediately, CBO Director Keith Hall told the Senate committee back in May.

CBO found a 17 percent compensation disparity between federal employees and their counterparts in the private sector, according to its April 2017 report. Moving the federal workforce to a defined contribution plan may partly close the gap between the public and private sectors, though the government wouldn’t see the savings immediately, CBO Director Keith Hall told the Senate committee back in May.

Anne Arundel County and federal immigration enforcement officials have reached an agreement that will add the county to a list of jurisdictions that screen inmates in local jails for immigration violations.
Federal officials finalized a 287(g) contract with the county on Monday, according to a memorandum of agreement released by County Executive Steve Schuh's office.
Under the deal, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an arm of the Department of Homeland Security, will train county correctional officers to use federal databases that screen new inmates for immigration violations, warrants and prior crimes.
A Schuh spokesman framed the agreement earlier this year as part of a "moderate and measured approach" to immigration enforcement.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) blasted Democrats on Thursday — particularly Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — for fueling media hysteria, knowing full well President Trump was not under investigation for collusion with Russia.
In a statement delivered on the Senate floor, Grassley said that in March, former FBI Director James Comey had told him, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and the group of Senate and House members known as the “Gang of Eight” that the president was not under investigation.
But Schumer, who is part of the Gang of Eight, continued to tell the media Trump was under investigation, Grassley said.
“That helped feed the media hysteria,” he said. “The Minority Leader even tried to say that the Senate shouldn’t vote on the Supreme Court nomination because the president was under investigation. And the whole time, he knew it wasn’t true.”

Director of Play That Assassinated Trump Character Gets Death Threats
The director who oversaw the production of Julius Caesar that included the assassination of a character designed to represent President Donald Trump is now getting death threats.
Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, who had said the play was crafted to illustrate “an anxiety nightmare parable about our current state, and that’s why it looks the way it looks,” has denied the play is designed to show Trump being assassinated.
However, conservative protesters have stormed the play during its run at New York City’s Central Park, and the performance was denounced by many as an effort to encourage violence against conservative politicians

National reciprocity legislation has been sitting in Congress since January 3, 2017, and we have heard of a growing roster of co-sponsors but little else. Then suddenly, following the June 14 attack in Alexandria, numerous Republican Congressional members were consumed with national reciprocity.
But the problem is that many House members now focused on national reciprocity are consumed with special carry privileges for Congress; carry privileges the common man will never enjoy.
For example, Breitbart News reported that Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) put forward post-Alexandria legislation that will give congressmen “the ability to attempt to qualify for a concealed carry permit – either through their home state or a training program created by the United States Capitol Police (USCP).” And for those who acquire a permit, the bill will:
Direct the USCP to grant Members of Congress the ability to concealed carry in nearly every conceivable scenario – including federal parks and buildings, the national mall, to and from their offices, at schools and military bases – with only a few limited restrictions. SALISBURY – The Wicomico Public Libraries will receive $320,000 from the county in the form of a cash advance to fund capital improvements at its downtown branch until the state reimburses the library system for the projects.
In a legislative session of the Wicomico County Council Tuesday, Andrea Berstler, executive director of Wicomico Public Libraries, requested a $320,000 loan to improve and repair parts of the system’s downtown library.
Berstler said Wicomico Public Libraries received a $320,000 grant from the County Library Capital Grant Program to replace carpet and HVAC units, repair subflooring, and improve its public restrooms.
“The Capital Grants Program for libraries provides reimbursement funding for projects to build and repair library buildings,” she said. “Once the money is expended and a paid invoice is available, that can be submitted immediately for reimbursement. We don’t have to wait until the end of the year, or even the end of the month.”

Big insurer drops out of Maryland health exchange
In a letter sent to Gov. Larry Hogan, Cigna announced it is exiting Maryland's individual marketplace in 2018, writing, "Individual solutions have performed poorly since we have participated on the exchange, and our losses continue to increase year over year in Maryland."
"From the standpoint of competition, you never want to see anybody leave, so there's no way I can tell you it's good news or that it doesn't hurt," Maryland Insurance Administration Commissioner Al Redmer Jr. said.
Officials believe Cigna's departure will not be a significant disruption, because Cigna has fewer than 1 percent of enrollees, which is about 600 customers.

America is getting older and more racially diverse as white baby boomers give way to booming numbers of Hispanics and Asians.

Troopers Searching For Suspect In Dorchester County Stabbing
(HURLOCK, MD) – State troopers are searching for a suspect wanted for stabbing a Dorchester County man this morning in Hurlock.
The victim is identified as Dewayne Camper, 53, of Hurlock, Maryland. Camper was transported by ground to Easton Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Shortly after midnight this morning, troopers from the Easton Barrack received a 9-1-1 call for a stabbing on the 4,000 block of Russell Road in Hurlock. Camper told police he was walking home when he was attacked. After the incident occurred, he continued his walk home where his girlfriend attempted to help him stop the bleeding while they called police. Emergency medical services personnel responded and transported him to Easton Memorial.
Investigators from the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division responded to continue the investigation. Camper was unable to provide a description of the attacker at this time.
The search for the suspect is continuing. State Police investigators ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information relevant to this case, to contact Easton Barrack at 410-822-3101.

Saudi Student Deported After Threatening Goodwill Store Shoppers
A Saudi Arabian national and former student at Ball State University has been deported after being arrested in March for the alleged violent threatening of shoppers at an Indiana Goodwill store unless they converted to Islam.
Khalid Sulaiman Bilal, 24, was arrested on March 25, accused of threatening people in a Muncie, Indiana, Goodwill store. Police said Bilal was “forcibly” trying to convert shoppers to Islam, Fox 59 reported.
Bilal, charged with 15 crimes, reportedly threatened shoppers, resisted arrest, attacked police, and choked a store clerk, the Muncie Star Press reported.
In March, Fox 59 described the incident vividly:

Baltimore Police Union Says It’s In Desperate Need Of Staffing
The Baltimore Police union warned that the department is “critically” understaffed as the city works to contain a surge in criminal activity.
“It’s time for action,” Gene Ryan, President of the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police said in a statement Wednesday. “We cannot sit back and continue to allow a surging crime rate destroy the good work our police officers and law abiding citizens have accomplished in years prior.”

Delaware Professor Says "Rich, White, Clueless, Male" Warmbier "Got Exactly What He Deserved"
University of Delaware professor claimed Wednesday that Otto Warmbier was typical of “rich, white, clueless males” and “got exactly what he deserved” at the hands of the North Koreans.
Dettwyler argues that while in North Korea, Warmbier had acted like a “spoiled, naive, arrogant U.S. college student who never had to face the consequences of his actions,” later describing him as having the “typical mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueless males” she teaches.
She also expressed surprise at the footage of Warmbier crying during his sentencing hearing, saying he should have expected the consequences he faced, and then complaining that not enough thought is given to “all the other people in North Korea who are suffering under a repressive government.”
Dettwyler explains that she is “a 62 year old college professor” who has been teaching “folks just like Otto” her entire life, declaring that “these are the same kids who cry about their grades” after refusing to study, “or instead of crying, they bluster and threaten their female professors.”

I wanted to see if #1, were their sources any good. #2, would they get the SECOND story that was just as damning.
The answer to both was, NO.
You see, on the same day a man also boarded a plane. His baggage was being inspected before they were put underneath the plane when agents saw something very suspicious. They then boarded the plane and asked the man to come with them.
The next thing they knew, security was chasing the man on the tarmac and ultimately TASED the man.
Funny how NONE of the so called media got this story but it sure is telling to us here at Salisbury News. If it hadn't been for SBYNews breaking the story about the Senator, well, clearly it would've been swept under the rug.
California runner dies after race in 107F during heatwave
At least three people have died in California as a massive heatwave continues to hit the west coast and southwest region.
Benjamin R. Greene, a 48-year-old lawyer and father-of-nine from Bakersfield, collapsed shortly after he finished a 5k race on Tuesday night.
Temperatures were as high as 107F as the local attorney took part in the Bakersfield Track Club event. An off-duty firefighter performed CPR but he died at a hospital about 8:30pm.
His wife, Michelle, said she is still in shock and blamed the race organizer's for not calling the 'Summer Series' run off.
'He is never coming home, there is no changing this. My children will never get to really know their father,' she told BakersfieldNow.com.
'They weren’t prepared for medical emergencies knowing that there was a heat wave coming through Bakersfield.

Justice for Sister Cathy: The Keepers
As many of you know from my previous writings, criminal injustice has always found a soft spot in my psyche, largely because I generally believe in our Rule of Law. A program on Netflix, once again, has struck a chord within me because the grave miscarriage of our justice system stirs even for the most hardened of hearts.
Sister Catherine Cesnik is probably a name many of you haven't heard of before. Her tale actually began and ended many decades ago. Close to 48 years ago, she was brutally murdered and many believe it was priests in her own parish who either orchestrated, planned and/or executed the egregious murder. Most importantly was not how she died but the following cover up by the Baltimore Archdiocese that makes this crime even more unsettling.
It began in November 1969 when she went out one night to buy her little sister a special engagement present. Sister Cathy left her apartment in Catonsville, Maryland and never returned home. She was killed to cover up bigger violations but in her death, silence has proven to be moot.
