Wicomico Looking To Hold Meeting On Failed Sewer System Accord

SALISBURY – Officials in Wicomico County are taking initial steps to hold an informational meeting for Village Down River property owners after discovering the community’s developer failed to set aside funds for the maintenance of a shared sewer system, a responsibility that will be left to its residents if the developer succeeds in transferring ownership.

In an Urban Services Commission meeting last week, Weston Young, assistant director of administration, and Paul Wilber, Wicomico County’s attorney, met with the Wicomico County Council to discuss how they would recover the funds and inform community members of the issue at hand.

Young explained that Wicomico County, the Urban Services Commission and Village Down River developer Terra Firma, LLC entered into a Shared Facility Agreement in 2008 that outlined the operational and financial obligations for a community sewer system.

“It was determined that a shared facility agreement was deemed necessary for this community sewer system to ensure efficient, affective maintenance, operation and to handle the continuous preventative and corrective maintenance of the sewer system,” he said.

Wow, with the amount of money people have invested in those homes, this is bound to get very interesting.

Go after the owner of Terra Firma, LLC (Stephen Pusey)

Doubtful Pusey has any legal responsibility; LLC means limited liability. He chose LLC for a reason. Wicomico County dropped the ball and is entirely at fault. I'm not a lawyer but my cousin stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last week.

Steve Pusey my my my what happened?? Yea this guy wouldn't even pay some of the maintenance people that helped him get the property in order, this is no surprise

As a Wicomico County citizen, I have no responsibility to pay for this screw-up. That should have been investigated by the home buyers before settlement. I am tired of these con-artist builders making the tax payer pay for their intentional screw-up. A contract is a contract. These con-artist should have their home improvement license pulled ASAP and never allowed to get another one in MD or ever be allowed to operate a business in MD.

LOL, that's what YOU think! If you had been a Wicomico citizen for any length of time you would know that both the city and county governments are prone to these kinds of things.

Somebody at county reviewed all of the official documents and said, "Looks good to me," and nobody blinked.

That whole tract of land is yet another toxic wasteland on the wicomico river. Years ago it was used as a commercial fishing business. There are 55 gallon drums if petroleum waste products buried everywhere on this land

Here we go AGAIN.
Enforcing a contract after 9 years of not doing so .... we'll see
WHO IS WATCHING THE COUNTY'S MONEY? And how many times does this sort of thing have to happen for someone to take responsibility? At least legal is making a nice living.

Wow! Trying to bury it on a weekend news cycle?
Right out of the liberal playbook

Just wait until all the "artists" living on contaminated soil from the fertilizer company next to the ship yard start having "special babies" and sue the city.
