Sheriff Reggie Mason Accepts Donation For New K9

Sheriff Reggie Mason accepts a check for $5,000.00 from Connie & Dave Widmann for the purchase of a new K9 Explosives Detector dog. The donation is in memory of their son, Dfc.Brian Heller who we lost on June 14, 2000 in the line of duty. With this donation and the previous donation received from the Haslam/Brenner family, the Sheriffs Office will be able to purchase an additional bomb dog which will not only serve the citizens of Worcester County, but will also be used to assist other surrounding counties and states. We would like to thank both families for their kindness and generosity shown. We anticipate purchasing our new K-9 and training a new K-9 Handler in the next few months. Sheriff Mason continues to make it his mission to protect and serve our county residents and this addition will greatly assist many agencies and residents in keeping our schools and community events safe.We will keep you updated.
It should be noted that the dog pictured is not the Explosives K-9. Although we are sure it would make a fine one

Thank you, the Haslam/Brenner family for your generous donation. I don't know how much it costs to properly train a dog like this, but I encourage all to add a few dollars to make this one of the best dogs on the Shore. We certainly need assets like the Haslam/Brenner family as well as the dogs.
