Wi Hi Coach Pleads Guilty To Sex Abuse Of A Minor

Steven Mark Kiggins has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced to 4 years in jail. Salisbury News reported back in January this Post about this case. A few days later we followed up with this Post.

Of course, our main concern was how this individual had been ignored by the rest of the local MSM, especially with all of the contacts the Daily Times has within the Board of Education.

One victim stated she had been having sex with Kiggins once a week when she was 16 and 17 years old. Kiggins was placed on administrative leave, (WITH PAY) for several months. Once again, great work Mr. Fredericksen!

Joe: Do you think he should have been suspended without pay? What if the accusations were false? THat happens all the time. Hell in New York and other places they have places called "rubber rooms", where teachers acused of such things remain paid for sometimes years. Aren't unions great? I know the perp very well and he is remorseful for the descision he made and knows he will have to suffer the consequences. It also should be noted that the "victim" pursued him continiously even after she was of legal age. She texted him after the indictment saying that she didn't mean to ruin his life. Is she a victim? I kind of doubt it. He was definetly in the wrong. We expect certain people in certain positions to behave a certain way. He violted that trust and he now has consequences.

Sure he's remorseful, he got caught. Absolutely, he should have been suspended without pay - he was supposed to be the adult in this situation and we all know where his brains were right about then.

He plead guilty so no one heard any evidence. He was to be innocent until proven guilty. Therefore suspended with pay is a better road. The accusations could be a complete fabriation so to take a man's living away on an accusation is wrong. Ultimately, he was guilty and he should have been the adult, you are right. She behaved in a very "adult" way also no matter what her chronological age was. I have two daughters and it is all I can do to slow them down from becoming "adults". Even Television that is supposed to be for children is filled with inuendo and sometimes outright sexuality. My only point is that she probably has no consequences for her behavior. My young daughters know the difference between right and wrong. In other parts of the world, this type of relationship would have been ok, not considering the teacher/student relationship which is wrong everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Fathers of 15-16 year old daughter should know that their little "angels" behavior is not always angelic

There is a reason they used not let men be teachers and now we are all reminded of that reason.

4:06 There have been a lot of female teachers who are just as guilty. We should go back to boy's schools and girl's school's with appropriate teachers.
