Salisbury Police Department Press Release 3-20-12

On March 15, 2012 at approximately 9:56pm, officers responded to the 900 block of Johnson St for a reported Armed Robbery of a cab driver.

On arrival, officers learned that the cab driver (victim) had responded to a residence in the 900 block of Johnson St to pick up a fare. When the victim stopped in front of the residence a black male entered into the vehicle, demanded money from the victim while holding a knife to his neck. The black male was able to steal an undetermined amount of U.S. Currency from the victim as well as the victim’s wallet and the keys to the cab. The victim was not injured.

On March 16, 2012 at approximately 10:08am, officers responded to the Family Dollar located at 1527 N Salisbury Blvd for a reported Armed Robbery.

On arrival, it was learned a black male had entered into the business brandishing a knife and demanding money from the cash register. The black male was wearing a distinctive white “hoodie”, a covering over his face, and a baseball style hat. As
the clerks were trying to obtain the currency for the black male, a customer entered into the store. The black male ordered the customer to leave which he did. Several seconds later, the customer drove his vehicle up to the business doors in an attempt to block the black male inside the business. The black male was able to struggle his way out the doors from the business, minus the money. The victims were not injured.

Detectives were able to obtain evidence that led them to a residence in the 600 block of Decatur Ave. Detectives were able to obtain a search and seizure warrant for the address. During this process, evidence was located linking a resident to both
Armed Robberies. James Lee Mikel Webb, 22yo of Salisbury, MD was arrested and charged with 2cts of Armed Robbery, 2 cts of Robbery, 1st & 2nd degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony. Webb was released to the custody of Central Booking.
