Salisbury Police Department Press Releases 10-5-11

On October 2, 2011 at approximately 11:35 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the one hundred (100) block of First Street for the report of an assault. Upon arrival the officers met with an adult female victim who advised that she had been assaulted by the below listed suspect who was known to her. The victim had been located within the residence when the suspect approached it and knocked to gain entry. The suspect was not allowed in and as a result tore the front door screen and entered the residence without consent. The suspect struck the victim and took the victim’s cellular telephone before fleeing the area. Officers were able to locate the suspect several blocks away for a positive identification. The telephone was not recovered.

ARRESTED: Connie Francis Stevens, 30 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Fourth degree burglary
Trespassing
Theft (under $ 1,000)
Malicious destruction of property

On October 2, 2011 at approximately 11:18 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of West Philadelphia Avenue and Miles Street and stopped a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop the officer requested a K-9 and received the assistance of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department. The K-9 gave a positive indication of the presence of controlled dangerous substances and a check of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie of suspected heroin and paraphernalia containing suspected heroin residue. The suspect was arrested without incident.

On October 3, 2011 at approximately 10:01 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant received for possession of a controlled dangerous substance on June 8, 2011. On that date a vehicle operated by the suspect was stopped in the area of Priscilla Street and Hammond Street and was checked with the assistance of a K-9 from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department. The K-9 gave a positive indication on the vehicle which was checked and resulted in the recovery of a baggie of suspected marijuana and CDS/Paraphernalia containing suspected heroin residue. 5
