O'Malley Proposes Outrageously Partisan Congressional Map

Carves State Up Into 8 Gerrymandered Districts Just to Target One Individual

ANNAPOLIS  In response to the release of Governor O'Malley's partisan, Democrat-designed congressional map that outrageously gerrymanders the state of Maryland, Maryland Republican Party Chairman Alex Mooney made the following statement:

"This map is an insult to the people of Maryland. It ignores the people's plea for a fair map that respects geographic boundaries and protects minority rights," said Chairman Mooney. "Governor O'Malley and his stacked partisan Democrat committee have created a map with the singular goal of carving up the Western part of Maryland and defeating Republican Congressman Roscoe Bartlett," Mooney said. "Not only does the map target one individual, but it also features not one or two but eight districts that look patently ridiculous."

"County boundaries and communities of interest were not given their due regard in this map. As a result, this map further violates minority groups who have been traditionally underrepresented in the state's congressional delegation," Mooney continued.

"Governor O'Malley has once again failed to live up to the 'One Maryland' talking point he uses during election years. I urge the General Assembly to reject this attempt to carve up and divide both the rural areas of our state and black communities to maximize the Democrats partisan advantage," concluded Mooney.

WHEN did the "people" have a say? And WHEN did the politicians start representing the "people". ALL they want to do is preserve their power structure. Maybe voting will help. Maybe not.

11:31,

When, you ask?

Answer: In Nov 2010 when "the people" elected these group of thugs.

The root cause of many of our problems is not the people in Annapolis or Washington, it is the people in the voting booth!

And as long as people believe they can send politicians to the the Capitol to "bring the bacon home" for their district, instead of electing common sense fiscally responsible people to put this country back on course, we will continue our downward slide into financial ruin.

We've now reached the 51% level, where over half of the population has their hands out, waiting for the government to put something in it. See that light at the end of the tunnel? It's the fires of hell burning.

1:23.....and pray tell, how is THIS group of thugs any different than the prior set of thugs...NONE of them are interested in the well-being of the NATION. ONLY in preserving their power and wealth, no matter who gets trampled (the middle class), WHAT gets trampled (the Constitution), or HOW it gets trampled (by criminal collusion and outright theft).
