Auto Owners Beware -- D.C. Cops Throw Drivers in Jail for Expired Tags, AAA Cries Foul

In a city that hosts its fair share of murders and terror plots, Washington, D.C., police are cracking down on another threat to the nation's capital -- expired vehicle registrations.

To the frustration of forgetful drivers, Metropolitan Police Department officers are throwing people in jail for letting their tag renewals lapse. The practice provoked somewhat of a backlash last year after a local mother from Maryland was jailed for what in many places would be a routine traffic offense punishable by fine. But the department continues to reserve and exercise the right to throw drivers in the clink for missing the DMV deadline, no matter where they're from.

Are all the cops in this country going nuts? They just get out of the academy or something?

No, they are all slowely ratcheting up the police state. The goal is to make the sheeple more and more submissive to the government and condition them to the total marxist takeover that's coming.

Is this ALL DC cops have to do?? really?? and to be thrown in jail at the descretion of the officer?? the officer is feeling well, or has had a fight w/ a significant other, or was fussed at by his boss so he/she is going to take it out on a driver that has an expired tag? what if they had failed their inspection and waiting for parts to fix the problem, then what? DC, as we know, is full of idiots and now we see it truly flowing downhill!!

7:14 and 8:32 yeah right with all the crime in dc, this is what the officers are worrying about. seem's to me the officers know this will take them hours to address and keep them safe and off the streets, so they don't have to worry about getting shot!
