9/11 Coloring Book Sparks Outrage From Muslim Group

It's not your average coloring book that depicts the burning Twin Towers and the killing of Osama bin Laden. We Shall Never Forget 9/11: The Kids' Book of Freedom does just that, and much more, in an attempt to "educate."

But some U.S. Muslims are expressing anger over the book, claiming that it characterizes all Muslims as linked to terrorism.

The most unsettling drawing shows a Navy SEAL shooting at bin Laden, who seems to be hiding behind a niqab-wearing woman. The text on this page reads, "Children, the truth is, these terrorist acts were done by freedom-hating radical Islamic Muslim extremists. These crazy people hate the American way of life because we are FREE and our society is FREE."

This is the TRUTH folks!! Our kids need to understand what happened on 9/11. I am so sick of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!! MUSLIMS killed 3,000 plus of our citizens on 9/11. That is a fact!!

They indicated it was done by radical extremists. What else do they want, total denial?

Get on your camels and head back to mecca.

Incuding that truth statement is nice but to have a coloring book showing a SEAL shooting someone that is using another as a human shield is a bit much. I can't say I agree with that and to answer 8:51am I was raised on the shore for most of my life (moved here from NJ at 8 years old so all i know is the shore). To say MUSLIMS killed 3,000 US citizens is like saying CHRISTIANS hate soldiers because Westboro Baptist Church pickets their funerals. Should someone make a coloring book indicating that?

Bottom line I'm all for educating our children but considering how impressionable their minds are it should be handled with care or else they will get the wrong idea. (If that confuses you then understand that the wrong idea is prejudice). Side note... I come from a family of military men and women plus i've been in church since I was in my mother's womb (rarely miss a Sunday).

TRUTH hurts, don't it?

They show that and much worse in a comic book.

I am confused as to why you would include that.

The Muslims need to just shut up. I'm sick and tired of every time we turn around, another Muslim is suing.
Just for the record, we have "freedom'hating radical American extremists" too! However, it wasn't THEM who attacked us on 9/11!
If these Muslims want to be "accepted", they need to be more "accepting" of OUR way in THIS country!

Correct me if I am wrong but, do we currently have ANY Religious Radicals from any other faith threatening the U.S. with death or physical harm? Our biggest threat right now is Muslims. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but ALL terrorists are Muslims. There is a reason for that. Educate yourself.

Hang around here long enough and you see way too many people (notice I didn't say everyone) who want to call your background into question the second you disagree with them. I tend to cover my bases.

Comic books are written for teens and young adults... While anyone can read them its not the intended audience. Coloring books are primarily made for "children"... The same word I used in my first post. Do we have coloring books showing people having sex? If not then why not? Isn't sex a vital part continuing the human race? You know the answer and its the same as my answer for this coloring book... You don't introduce everything to children as their minds are like ours. You want to make a comic book for teens depicting the Navy Seals doing their jobs? Go for it.

Ok. That's probably a good idea.

I will give you that one since I was just being facetious. :)

EDIT - Children's minds AREN'T like ours.

Gotcha... I tend to do the same and i'm too sarcastic for my own good at times so I feel where you are coming from.

Let's not influence kids about FREEDOM, or our enemies (make NO mistake about who our enemies are, either). But, for all those who DON'T like the idea of influencing (or conditioning) our children (because they are so impressionable), please stop ADVOCATING books for kids like "I Have Two Mommies", or "Billy Loves Bobby"...or do you just pick the battle you like?

Darryl said...

I agree with you Imclain. Those books shouldn't be out there either. Hope your hopes weren't up in thinking I'd be apart of that group. I will say that influencing our kids about freedom should continue to go on (like the FULL pledge of allegiance and at least a moment of silence in schools)... Somethings should be done in different ways or toned down though (see my other post).

In days gone by we used to remember "Pearl Harbor day" as the day the sneaky Japs cowardly attacked on Dec. 7th. 1941. We refured to the enomy as "Japs" and we locked them up till we could sort out the good ones.
We need to do the same with those damm Muslims! Lock them up but make them go into the "showers" that our good friends the American Nazi Party have built for us. This is the solution to the Muslim problem.
The only good Muslim is a Dead one!
Remember 911, kill a Muslim!
