How about spending more time in our small towns ?

What, little Mike isn't it getting done? When I lived in that rat hole you never saw a County in the county. They were always in the city limits of Salisbury for some reason.

Every holiday is a big pay day for the popo. Making budget one citizen at a time.

and meanwhile back at the ranch the drug epidemic rages! way to go MSP! keep generating revenue at the point of a gun. worthless! and no I'll won't be calling you for help!

I think what the other commenters are missing is the key phrase, Memorial Day Weekend. A lot of drinking which leads to DUIs and confrontations/assaults, out of towners who defy speed limits, and then the usual no seat belts or cell phones. Give the cops a break; they had to work so you all could party.

7:43 - I agree with you. I live in Worcester county, and can tell you there was a very real police presence. As for the other comments, well, every time Joe publishes something here about the police being proactive in their efforts, some yahoo jumps on (or two or three) and spouts off about one inane thing or another. Along with the state police, county and local law enforcement are highly visible; Berlin, Ocean Pines and the immediate area is very well covered and I for one am all for it! Well done, LEO!

8:07 proactive? lmmfao! proactive would be getting off the highway out of the car, spending time in the ghetto and looking for criminal activity and drug dealers! there is nothing proactive about riding around all day waiting for some unlucky fool, so they can generate revenue for the state at the point of a gun!
Wait until you call for help and they are not available or better yet they'll come and take a report and then......crickets!
had to work? no could have selected another field. Only ones who had to work were the US military so you could party!

How about some DWI Enforcement on Nanticoke Rd ???????

Nothing makes a cop madder than having to work on a holiday weekend, while everyone else has off for the holiday. Yeah, they are mad, and they're going to make as many of the public pay for it, as they can. And then they get overtime and holiday pay, to boot. But I think its funny that they get mad. They took the job. I don't blame their wives for the high divorce rate among cops.

Rookie cops work the holidays after senior guys are asked First .

our troops work the holidays every year, get paid next to nothing, are stuck in some of the worst shitholes in the world. They aren't taking it out on the citizens and surly aren't getting double or triple time! or the ability to ride around in an air conditioned vehicle while robbing citizens at the point of a gun!

They also don't have to sign on the dotted line did they ?

You're funny. I think you're trying to praise cops, while saying the citizens they serve are living in shitholes. And then follow with the next sentence saying they don't take it out on those very citizens. Best part is when you use the word "surly". That right there is funny, to someone that knows what the word means. That last sentence is not coherent , at all. If you, or a relative is a cop, someone needs to go back to school.

8:09 keep drinkin your koolaid! not our fault your relative did so poorly in their studies, should have tried harder in school! then your pos relatives would have had better opportunities instead of having to take a job as a kop!
all you can cry about is the spelling of a word? real good argument there! snowflake?

I think you are as confused as 4:33, who's 8:09 post is about. Maybe your reading comprehension skills, or lack thereof, have just been exposed. None of MY relatives are cops. Yes, I know how to spell cop too. Nobody crying here, except you. Your educational skills are less than GED qualified. Your grammar would make a school teacher cringe. You've never heard of punctuation, or capitalization? Yeah, that's what's obvious with your comment. And you want somebody to seriously consider your words? Really, how naive. Get an education and quit being a low-life.

8:09 the comment was about troops, as in military troops, not troopers. Take your time and try to comprehend what you're reading.
