Crime or Violation: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance to wit: Heroin, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance to wit: Oxycodin (2 Charges), Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Lorazepam (2 Charges), Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with intent to distribute (3 Charges), Traffic Charges
Accused: Rachael Ashley Mitchell 28 yrs old Georgetown,De
Crime or Violation: District Court FTA Bench Warrant (Wicomico County, MD) and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance to wit: Heroin.
Accused: Adam Michael Mckirby 34 yrs old Georgetown,De
Narrative:
On Sunday, 08/30/2015 at approximately 2001 hours, a Deputy with the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, observed a Pontiac Grand Am operating with inoperable brake lights on Ocean Gateway (Rt.50)
The Deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Route 50 at Samuel Bowen Boulevard. It was determined that the registration plates on the vehicle belonged to a Dodge Intrepid. The driver, identified as Rachael Ashley Mitchell, advised she had knowingly switched the registration plates on the vehicle. Mitchell’s license was suspended through Delaware.
The front seat passenger was identified as Adam Michael Mckirby 34 yrs old from Georgetown,Delaware. Dispatchers advised Mckirby was wanted through MSP Salisbury. Mckirby’s license was also suspended through Delaware. A K9 Scan was conducted on the vehicle with a positive alert.
The search of the vehicle revealed 10 white packets of Heroin, 5 blue packets of Heroin and two plastic straws used for snorting Heroin. Also located was a baggie containing Oxycodin and Lorazepam under the driver’s seat. The Deputy also located Oxycodin and Lorazepam pills in a baggie behind the vehicle’s CD Player. Heroin was found on Mckirbys person while he was searched.
Through investigation it was determined Mitchell was enroute to sell narcotics with her children in the vehicle. Social Services were called and they took custody of the children.
Mckirby was arrested for Posession of Heroin and the District Court FTA Bench Warrant. Mitchell was arrested for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Oxycodin, Possession of Lorazepram, Possession of Drug Paraphenalia and three counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with intent to distribute. Mitchell and Mckirby were processed and before the District Court Commisioner. Mckirby was released on his personal recognizance for his charges. Mitchell was held on a $25,000.00 bond at the Worcester County Jail.
All of the above events occurred in Worcester County, Maryland.
