MEXICO CITY (AP) - The U.S. government says it will begin flying detained Mexican migrants back to their home states instead of dropping them off at the border, where many are victimized by drug traffickers.
U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told reporters in Mexico City on Monday that the U.S. will pay to deport migrants by plane to airports in Mexico and the Mexican government will arrange the last leg of the journey home.
The program is to start in April.
Many immigrants from Mexico and Central America are robbed or forcibly recruited by members of organized crime groups on their northbound trip through Mexico, or on the way home.
The U.S. says a record 400,000 people were deported, mostly to Mexico, during the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.

Yeah and I bet first class to. Put those nasty criminals on a bus with bars and locks on it.take away the air conditioning ...crank up the heat and drive their asses there the same way they came.
Flying is to luxurious and costly! They are worried about them being victimized by cartels than they shouldn't have came in the first place.those cartels are helping the u.s. in one way......deterrents those people from wanting to come.kinda like how Fidel Castro kept his people in his country.
5:09. These are migrant workers. Here on the shore and all across the country these people work in the fields doing jobs Americans think they are to good to do. No migrant workers no food on your plate. Also many of these workers are here with entire family's. So I guess we should just give them to the drug cartels. You are being an a$$
I have no problem with a person whom does the correct thing by following the laws and completing the proper steps to come here.however a criminal is a criminal period.they entered illegally. There is a war in terror right now and anybody can walk into our country. How about the fact the man you seeing picking crops here illegally could more than likely be responsible for god knows how many cartel murders or other tasks .or what if he is cancans version ofThomas leggs?
Now think about all the foreign workers in ocean city. Most come legal.however ....how many people in our area can use those jobs? We have American citizens jobless ....for a long period of time which could use those jobs.and as far as jobs that Americans won't do.........I am an American who will for whatever it takes to keep a job and roof over my families heads.I work several part time jobs because our economy doesn't support only legal citizens. It supports anyone and everyone. And that's why we are failing to continue our stature as a great nation. I currently wipe old peoples asses and bath them part time among other things.would you do that? Until you understand what its like to be the lower class and struggling.don't comment on a subject you know nothing of. By the way.........do you happen to employ any illegal immigrants? Bet you do.and if so....your as bad as they are and shame on you!
