District Court Judges Unhappy With Potential Weekend Work

A Senate vote on an emergency bill to amend the Maryland Public Defender Act was postponed for a second day Monday so lawmakers could hear from judges unhappy with a provision to open courts on weekends for bail hearings.

awww...those poor things...$150,000.00 per year income, fantastic retirement after just a few short years and their own little kingdom...and thet're complaining

Sounds like a WIN all the way around, 70,000 cases not needed to be heard by commissioners and weekends for bail hearings, will free up the courts for drug cases and criminal cases. We might see less, “Nola Process”, in the news and more convictions.

Good Lord, forget about the judges, just think how nasty the clerks will be in salisbury!
