PORT OF SALISBURY MARINA

We here at Salisbury marina are going into our third month of a shut-down! No bathrooms, No laundry room and worst of all, NO water access! If you read Port of Salisbury website they advertise all of the above. Most the people that live here are on SSI and have a limited income. We came home to our boat almost three months ago and the bathrooms, laundry room and even the outside water hook up was LOCKED UP blocking our access to all. How sanitary is it to use a bucket for a bathroom and dump it into the river? Not being able to bath except four hours out of the week when they unlock it, if they feel like working. They claim it was vandalized and they had to lock it up, not true, William Barclay had enough and found another job. ( he was the dock master) he left and without warning they locked the place up tight! We need some help here most of the live aboard are afraid to do much of anything because they don't have the money to move. The woman running the show that lock down the place must have worked for the prison system, she won't hire a new dock master or come to an agreement with the water, bathrooms ect... is their a lawyer somewhere willing to take on the city for false advertisement or the pain and suffering they have caused? Should we call in american civil liberties union? Can you help in anyway?

Sincerely, LOST

sounds to me like you are part of the occupy crowd when you are dumping your sewage into the river.

Easy on the cursing. I have rejected your comment because of such. If you'd like to re submit it WITHOUT the curse words, so be it.

This is how the sword swallowing administration intends to revitalize the downtown area.

Well, it seems that if you live on a BOAT, your butt should be pretty portable.
Why don't you find another marina?

Most marinas in the north prohibit live aboards in the winter for the freezing problems you witness. On that note, throwing watse overboard, on such a limited income (2 steps above section 8 it sounds like) I bet if the SBY marina caters to groups like this, they will never see true visitors that would travel to a marina like most boaters choose to. Same with anyone looking for a "year round" slip. Crisfield or the Wicomico Yacht Club would be a much better choice by far.

More likely, the same lady in charge of Moss HIll Townhouses are in charge of the Salisbury Marina... Since she has run the beautiful project in the ground... Twilley would not be happy to see what ahs happened over there.

Even in the peak of the summer season this marina is a disgrace. We have boated all over the bay and NOBODY cruises to Salisbury as a destination. The city doesn't have the brains to run this marina. Coastal properties could not make a profit on the pittance they were paid. Marinas are all about promotion and a welcoming staff.

Isn't some company being paid to manage it? And haven't they gotten extra money in the past, just because?

Net of the situation - they make more money closing the marina and pocketing the proceeds from the city. Obviously, the city doesn't have minimum operating standards.

It was a damn good marina when Paul Lewis was the manager...I think that was back in 2005-2007 or therabouts...everything worked pretty well and it was very clean.
