(Salisbury, MD) Wicomico Recreation, Parks and Tourism is offering two volleyball programs for 2011-2012 season: Junior Volleyball (Co-Sponsored by the Salisbury Optimist Club) and Scholastic Volleyball. The Junior Volleyball league is open for girls and boys in first through eighth grade and the Scholastic volleyball league is open for girls and boys in eighth through twelfth grade. Players will have the opportunity to develop their skills, fundamentals and strategies in volleyball with Bennett High School Coach, Chris Emge.
The Junior volleyball program will take place at the Bennett Middle school gym on Thursdays, January 5-February 23. Players will be divided into divisions by grade/skill level. Division I, held 8:15-9:00pm, will include all seventh, eighth graders and returning/experienced 6th graders. Division II, held 7:15-8:00pm, will include all fourth, fifth and sixth graders. Division III, held 6:15-7:00pm, will include all first, second and third graders. Cost is $65 per player.
The Scholastic volleyball program will take place at the Bennett Middle school gym on Wednesdays during three different sessions. Session I will run 6:15-7:15pm, December 7-January 25, session II will run 6:15-7:15pm, February 8-March 21, and session III will run 7:00-8:00pm, April 11-May 23. Cost is $45 per person or $125 for a three session package.
