Seriously, people really don't give 2 hoots about this. everyone I spoke with sitting around local watering holes this week said they agree with asking Dennis Dare to leave. I was the only one out of probably a hundred people who felt sorry for him.
Then the other day someone told me they watched the council meeting online and those people acted like a bunch of jerks and only one lady actually said anything of intelligence. She asked why Dare was asked to resign.
IMO any council member who attends their rally is stupid. People who watched the meeting said all these people were about was heckling and acting like jerks instead of wanting to hear the other side of the story. I guess they never heard there are 2 sides to every story.....

5:52 AMEN! The people that spoke are from the small minority that support the mayor or the other city employees that need to get thier act together. This has been a long tome coming. Dennis became a part of the political machine that caused OC's budget to grow far beyond what they can sustain.

Some of the people where I work were discussing the mayor's behavior in all of this today. They were tossing out the word "improper" and "unethical" to describe the hissy fit he has propelled himself into over this situation. I did read his letter to the editor and am inclined now to question his motives.

"Patti Miller used her time at the podium to read a poem she wrote about the council entitled “Your Reflection.” The poem was a fable of candidates that became the secretive politicians they ran against."

Oh Lord I've heard it all! How overly dramatic and lame! I wonder if this is on the online council broadcast? I'd love to get a load of this sappy BS!

I'm going to start my own group and call it-

"The Ocean City MD City Manager's Salary Is Too Damm High"

Let me guess who has made the above comments. Joe Hall, Jim Hall Margret Pillas and Brent Ashley.

The reason that citizens are so upset about the firing of Denise Dare is that he has managed to sustain the tax rate and run Ocean City at a level that the citizens have come to expect without raising taxes. He has been able to cut the budget year after year during this economic down turn.

7:36 says...."He has been able to cut the budget year after year during this economic down turn."

I'm not sure I'm buying this. Wasn't the budget cut due to recommendations brought forward and acted upon by the council?

If I remember correctly it wasn't so long ago that some were saying the hiring freeze, retirement incentives and the changes to the different city departments was going to be the demise of Ocean City. All these measures were proposed by the council to cut costs and were not met with excitement by some residents.

Now fastforward to now, and all some can say is that it was Dennis Dare who cut the budget. You people can't have it both ways.
