National Group Joins In-State Tuition Battle

The Washington group Judicial Watch filed papers Thursday to intervene in the lawsuit over legislation to extend in-state tuition discounts to illegal immigrants.

he conservative group, which bills itself as a watchdog on immigration, can bring money and national attention to the battle in Maryland, where the controversial measure was suspended after opponents successfully petitioned for a statewide vote.

“There is no question that the Maryland DREAM Act should be put to a referendum,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. “The illegal immigration lobby simply wants to keep Maryland voters from having their say on the issue.”

The legislation was approved this year by the Democratic General Assembly and signed by Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley.

O'failly, you suck seriously...

To go on record and say that if people who live in the state pay in-state taxes they should get in-state cost to education...

Let me explain this for your retarded ass... THEY ARE ILLEGAL which means THEY ARE NOT PAYING TAXES... Period!!!!

So if they DON'T pay in-state taxes or taxes in general, then how can you say, and I quote "Fair is Fair"?...

Let,s make this easy. The people of Maryland have spoken. The delegates, the senators and the governor want this bill for their own political agenda. How about we try something new and let the people decide on this one.

This guy O'Malley really is a dunce. And so are any of the lawmakers who voted in favor of this.
Other states have also passed this DREAM Act. Now wouldn't a reasonable and prudent lawmaker want to hold off on voting to pass this act? I would think they would want to see what effects others states may incur.
It used to be that years ago we held our state senators and delegates in esteem and they deserved respect. It's not that way anymore with most of them, as they have become nothing but "prisoners" to special interest. They are "captured" and kept "confined" by special interest and dutifully do their bidding without question. It's like they haven't a mind of their own.
