Former Baltimore Orioles Pitcher Found Dead

(CNN) -- Mike Flanagan, a former Cy Young Award-winning pitcher with the Baltimore Orioles, was found dead Wednesday evening, the baseball team said.

"It is with deep sadness that I learned of the death of my friend Mike Flanagan earlier this evening. In over a quarter century with the organization, Flanny became an integral part of the Orioles family, for his accomplishments both on and off the field," Orioles owner Peter Angelos said.

This is terribly sad. He was one of most beloved Orioles ever.

I'm shocked as well.

Also not very happy with my internet brothers and sisters who will waste no opportunity to show their behinds...some of the comments are horrible.

It saddens me to the core to know that Mike Flanagan believe that the fans held him responsibile for the Orioles poor performance in the last years. It was anybody's fault BUT his! My prayers go out to his family and hope that they will gather strength and comfort from their family, friends and his strong fan base!
