FEMA Gears Up For Irene

Hurricane Irene is now a category three hurricane barreling toward the eastern seaboard. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for North Carolina's Outer Banks. Meanwhile, FEMA is coordinating federal efforts and has already deployed disaster assistance teams to Georgia and Virginia. The FCC has also sent teams to help manage emergency communications systems in affected areas. Irene is expected to make landfall in the next thirty-six hours.
