Salisbury, MD – Wicomico County Tourism was recently awarded ‘Best Booth’ and ‘Best Female Costumes’ at the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Summer Conference.  The honors were given towards the end of the conference, which took place from August 17-20, 2011 at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City.

During the 250+ exhibit booth trade show, a mainstay of the annual conference, attending Maryland Counties share information about their area of origin. This year, to coincide with the launch of their latest Visitor’s Guide, Wicomico Tourism adopted the theme Unlock Delmarva’s Hidden Treasures.  Equipped with treasure chests, gold and of course pirates, the booth highlighted Wicomico County’s hidden treasures including our natural beauty and outdoor adventure, exceptional shopping and savory cuisine, eclectic festivals and events, enlightening historical sites and cultural experiences.

Upon hearing the news, Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr. shared, “I am so proud of Sandy Fulton and her staff at County Tourism.  Their incredible energy and talents have proven once again that Wicomico County, with its many hidden treasures, is still a beautiful place to live, work or visit.”

9:59am--no, you are wrong. These people did not promote the cove dumb butt. It was Cap. Willey of WBOC flying over Cove Beach and pointing it out and promoting it.
Hope you now get your story straight.
