Yes, I either take them or lose them.

Unfortunately, my jobs are part time & I don't get vacation days (or sick days, personal days, or holidays). Either I work or I don't get paid. Oh well, I do have more flexibility with my days if I choose. Guess you can't have it all.

I was supposed to have a weeks vacation this week but decided, because we were behind and all extra help was needed, I went to work yesterday and for 1/2 a day today until we were caught up. I'll save the day and a 1/2 for later on this summer. When your co-workers need help, it's the right thing to do.

Are you serious? If I want to maintain my sanity, I have to take my vacation time.

NO I am self employed. I work 24/7. if need be. I have a good business and intend to keep it that way. I cant have a business and set on the beach or at a cool bar at night.

I would like to, but I work for a local hospital where we have to use our vacation time when we and/or our children are sick. I am afraid to take a vacation for fear that I will need the time for when my children are sick. This is also the reason why I go to work sick when I should stay home at times.

Yes. I take my 2 weeks and I also make sure my 5 personal days are used as well.
The break is needed, for sure and it's a benefit that I'm entitled to by my employer. Anyone who doesn't take all their time, hears from him. He WANTS us all to take the time he's giving us, he says it makes us happier employees and he offers it for a reason.
We have no health insurance benefit, so you bet I'm gonna use up my time!
