SHOREBIRDS GAME NOTES: 7/15 vs. West Virginia

PREVIEW: The Shorebirds aim for an encore performance in game two against West Virginia. Delmarva connected on three homers and trounced the Power last night 8-1. Kenny Moreland earned his fifth win of the season in 6.2 innings pitched. He retired 17 of the final 19 batters he faced.

STARTING PITCHING SUCCESS: Over the last eight games, Shorebirds starting pitching has allowed just 30 hits and three earned runs in 47.2 innings pitched. Further, the seven starters have combined to strike out 44 batters with just seven walks.

EIGHT RUNS: The Shorebirds scored at eight runs last night for the first time since June 16, when they defeated Kannapolis 8-6 at Perdue Stadium. Last night also marked the first double-digit hit total in the month of July.

3 STRAIGHT: Ty Kelly has notched three straight multi-hit games. He is 6-for-13 over the last three games. Kelly’s average has jumped from .256 to .265.

15 OF 16: Brian Conley has reached base in 15 of the last 16 games that he has appeared dating back to June 25.

3-FOR-44: Garabez Rosa is 3-for-44 over his last 12 games.
