Bob Caldwell, former member and president of the Salisbury City Council, has announced his candidacy for Wicomico County Council, representing District 4, which includes neighborhoods both within and adjacent to the City of Salisbury.
In his formal filing statement, Caldwell said, “Wicomico County is facing significant challenges. Many are economic in nature. But there are others, including land use, zoning, public safety, and maintaining quality of life. My pledge is to apply common sense and a commitment of fundamental fairness to every issue.
“I look forward to a spirited campaign, with issues at the forefront. I look forward to speaking with the residents of District 4, and with their help and support, representing them on Wicomico County Council.”
Caldwell has been a resident of Salisbury since 1945. Besides his service on city council, Caldwell has served on the Quarter-Century Committee, Salisbury-Wicomico Planning & Zoning Commission, and the Civic Center Task Force. He was a charter member and director of Sunrise Rotary Club, and has served as a board member for The Wellness Community-Delmarva, and the American Cancer Society. He served 3 years as a member of the Army Security Agency. His current memberships include BPOE Lodge 817, and the Optimist Club of Salisbury. He is currently an active Realtor/Associate Broker in Wicomico County and a member of The Coastal Association of Realtors.
Caldwell is married to Madalene (Penny) Caldwell, who taught Science at Bennett Middle School. They have two grown children and six grandchildren.

Even Superman can't change the city council. We're better off with him representing us in the county.

Is he running against Macleoud? (spelling is wrong i'm sure) If he is, he would def. have my vote if I was in that district.
Bob Caldwell is a class act. He understands our district and the county. At the end of the day those of us who live in District 4 will be proud to have him as our Council person.

if Mr. caldwell were running against Prettyman or Holloway, I'd support him completely.
But he's running against the best, most distinguished member of the current county council. The only current council member who's not a "good ole boy".
Bob your a great guy. but, no way on this one. we need Dave. He's the only common sense on the current county council.
Stick to city politics Bob. you could do alot better.
