An Interesting Comment Worthy Of A Post

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "50 Protesters In Downtown Salisbury":

First off, I am white. I was raised in an upper middle class, white neighborhood. I have never been arrested, though I did a TON of stuff as a kid that I should have been arrested. As I am sure most everyone here has. Never violent, but certainly illegal.

I won't argue that Michael Brown was behaving as a thug. But he was a kid.

What many of you, who are "people like me" do not understand is that we do not really understand what low income African Americans face with law enforcement and the penal system. Even your hero Rand Paul agrees!

It is easy, and extremely hypocritical, to argue "don't break the law" and you won't have any problems. Because we all, or most, do stupid things in their youth. It is part of growing up.

Take a black kid and a white kid who are both the same age. Pick your crime - minor theft, drug possession, fighting, vandalism, you name it. Let's go with simple possession or small time sales of a controlled substance. Both kids are doing the same thing.

The black kid is more likely to get noticed by police and in a position where they will find the drugs. The black kid, if caught with small possession, is more likely to be arrested vs given a warning. And the black kid will most likely receive a stiffer sentence.

Too many people throw around stats that show African Americans commit more crimes. What they don't realize or mention is that African Americans are more likely to get arrested, so a white guy who gets let go or gets a better deal doesn't fall into the stat. Who knows the reality.

I am in so way speaking poorly about our local cops. I have a number of friends on the force and all are upstanding people.

These protests area about the larger issues. It is because of experience that people don't take the grand jury, with all of its abnormalities, at face value. The Brown case may be the catalyst but that's not what it is all about. And now here we have the NY one with no indictment. Let's see what happens in Cleveland.

Everyone should support free speech protests, and the like so long as it is done peacefully. That is America! If law enforcement in MO hadn't been so pathetic, the rioting could have been avoided. Somehow NYC didn't burn last night...

So feel free to live in your nice Caucasian ignorance and convince yourselves that your animosity is devoid of racism. Let's see how that helps to bring together our fractured society.

Racial disparity in sentencing and I'm not buying into it and here's why.
The mantra is blacks convicted of the same crime as a white on the average get a sentence approximately 20% longer.
What these "studies" never include is prior record which is taken into account when one is sentenced.
In other words they aren't comparing apples to apples.

Okay now let's talk about black kids getting stopped for no reason or whatever. This reminds me of "stop and frisk" that was going on in NYC. When stop and frisk was implemented the murders went from over 2000 a year to under 400. Yes, I'll repeat from over 2000/yr to under 400/yr. 90% of those murdered were black. Stop and frisk saved black lives and that is why the mostly black residents of NY areas like Bedford-Stuyvesant and other high crime neighborhoods actually liked stop and frisk. The media doesn't give them much air time though. Only the race baiters who aren't living in the war zones are allowed the privilege of being interviewed by the MSM.

You don't know much of how it works in the real world.
Ferguson burned because it is a poor predominately black neighborhood. 50% black unemployment before riots. It was the democrat governor who gave the orders not the police.
If you think for one second riots would have been tolerated in NYC tourist attractions and the high rent districts where the protests occurred you are in need of a smack in the face of a dose of reality.

But posting this can only do good.We need to open our eyes and entertain various schools of thought. If we don't we'll be locked in our own mentality.

According to the ACLU-
"Studies show that for an identical crime, black teenagers are more likely to be arrested or jailed than white teenagers. Black people are around four times as likely to get arrested for marijuana possession, despite surveys showing black people use marijuana less than white people."

Now being somewhat a trained mind to read "between the lines" so to speak, I see some glaring problems with these "studies."

Example black teens are "more likely", black people are around 4x "as likely."
Major red flag is the use of the phrase "as likely." This was written by lawyers who are trained in making people see things that aren't there.

Likely indicates there is a chance of something occuring.

Lord, is it your hate of black people in general or just plain ole ignorance that causes you to spew forth that garbage?

You talk about them not comparing apples to apples when it comes to prior records, but you don't even realize IF that were the case the white person could have priors also.

Do you understand all that or did it go over your head as well?

A bogus post, based on bogus premises.
"Choose your crime.. we all do it..blah blah.
Many cops are out of control, but it isn't primarily a racial thing.
I just read a story about a young, unarmed white kid who was killed by a black cop.
You didn't hear about that?
Right. You didn't.

You are correct about one thing: it is about a bigger issue. However, the issue is about culture. The black culture (not race...and yes, there is a difference) has largely adopted the mindset that violence and crime is simply a way of life. That, combined with the victim mentality that is preached by black leaders, and parents to their children make for a culture that has completely lost the understand and difference between right and wrong. You are way over thinking the issue. your perception of these issues simply means that things will never get better. They wont get better until the black CULTURE understands the difference between right and wrong....it's that simple.

Rule 1) Do not fight the cop. Rule 2) If you do, it doesn't matter if you are White, Black, Red, Yellow or Green, you just might get shot. Rule 3) In case uou do get shot you may Die, so if you like to stay alive, refer to Rule 1.
Protesting in Salisbury about shooting in Missouri, okay. What about Protesting about the UMES student who got stabbed and killed last year on campus in Princess Anne? Nah, Why Not? Because it was Black on Black Crime? And where is MSM reporting? Oh, nevermind, doesn't fit the agenda.

Screw you!

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Kids can kill just as easy as adults. Point being, crime doesn't pay. If you do stupid stuff take your punishment. Keep in mind only 2% of people who commit a crime does real time, look up criminal justice funnel.

Yes, when you defy the directive of a police officer, hit him in the face and get your hands on his gun while he's in his cruiser, you will be noticed.

Anonymous said...

Did a cop stab the student? No? Then why would there be a protest? A protest against black on black crime? Fine. Are YOU going to start of join such a protest? No? Why not?

What a jerk!

During the civil unrest (read RACIAL) of 1968, our President called me and other to active duty in order to help quell. It ended much faster than what's going on now. Law breakers were dealt with quickly and locked up. There were no side stories about family members making a profit from selling T shirts or relatives of them mugging and stealing by other family members. The instigators are scum and law breakers that do not deserve public attention except to report their stupidity.

Gun powder residue found on Michael Browns hands, how did that happen? Bullet that entered palm of his Han and traveled through arm and came out above the elbow, how did that happen? Gentle Giant? And finally, If the cop was Black, would we hear about this case at all? Nah, I don't think so.

This so called white person is a soft hearted liberal. Calling this thug a kid? F*k U!! I have a 10 year old son that ways 60 lbs now that is a kid!!! You thug, I mean kid was a 300 lb gorilla thug that tried to overpower the much smaller cop and murder him. Your thug tried to make that cops wife a widow. Your thug was a criminal with a long rap sheet that deserved to die and now Ferguson is a better community.

Hopefully tonight you will decide to take a stroll down Fitzwater Street and get your little caucasion but whooped or killed and you will know what it's like to be a white cop in a black hood. You are to stupid to know what true racism is.

If the kop were black, would you care or just think one more _____ killing another _____?

Oh heck, you don't care now. nevermind

Black people can fix the issue themselves 4:52. They can just quit doing drugs, then the cops won't have a reason to lock them up. By doing so the white arrests for drugs possession will go up and blacks and their sympathizers will be happy! Not to mention drugs are bad anyway.

I would think if black lives really mattered like they claim, then they would be having a protest over this unsolved murder, as a way to bring publicity to it in an attempt to have witnesses come forth with possible info.
The Whitney Bennett murder was solved after a candle light vigil was given news coverage and someone saw it and remember an important detail and notified LE, and this call lead to the case being solved.
Black lives only matter when they can attach a racial motive to it and you'd be a fool to think otherwise.

4:52 is a moron. Saying something is "4x as likely" is literally the same as saying it's "more likely," it's just quantifying the amount it's more likely. (However, you're so stupid, I wouldn't expect you to understand what "quantifying" means). There's nothing to read "in between the lines," it's simply a fact that black kids will get arrested more for marijuana possession, even though they're caught in possession less than white kids are. Cops are less inclined to arrest white kids, simple as that. (Not that Joe's likely to approve this message, as it doesn't fit his hyperconservative old-man agenda).

Everything you said is racial and what's even sadder is you don't even realize it. You will go back and re-read you comment, ( of which there are many like it), a dozen times and still won't understand why.

And still think others are the fool.

You are A-typical of most of the people talking of something they have don't have a clue what they are saying.

But of course, you're not racist are you?
