In the year ahead, United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore will increase the number of Twelve Step programs held at the Salisbury Substance Abuse Community Center and will increase the center’s visibility through Community Impact Funding in the amount of $19,000. Since 1991, United Way has devoted over $511,000 in support of Salisbury Substance Abuse Community Center.
Salisbury Substance Abuse Center provides a safe and convenient environment for 37 local Twelve Step recovery programs. Over 1,000 individuals seeking recovery and those affected by substance abuse participate in support group programs held at the Salisbury Substance Abuse Community Center on a monthly basis.
SSACC Executive Director Beth Ohlsson shared, “For nearly 25 years, United Way has sustained Salisbury Substance Abuse Community Center in a very meaningful and practical way. Our long term partnership with United Way has made it possible for us to continue to support those seeking recovery from addiction on a day to day basis, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. “

can the united way afford to give this money away? especially with all the overhead they have!
That's exactly what they should be doing. At least the money is going where it helps the community. Charitiy organizations with alot of overhead spend alot of money given, on just that, overhead. Here we can see were our money is going, with names and faces.
Annual compensation:
