WAXAHACHIE (CBS 11 NEWS) - A blocks-long chase of a stray emu ended with police having to put the animal down for attacking a human. It happened last Wednesday in southeast Waxahachie when the animal suddenly appeared in a residential neighborhood. Feathers on the ground are a mute reminder of where the bird met its end in Malcolm Brigman’s yard.
“First thing I saw was that durn thing coming,” 90-year-old Malcolm Brigman told CBS 11 News. He faced German soldiers in the Ardennes in World War II—and then a very tall challenge again last Wednesday in his own yard. “It scared me, you know, when it come out,” he said of the animal.
Brigman was caught in the climax of a blocks-long chase of a stray emu. Fully grown emus can be 6-feet tall, weigh 150-pounds and run 55 miles an hour.

I wonder if the legendary wild emu's of the Westside still roam the deep woods seeking out their next innocent victim? They captured one, but at least one remains unaccounted for! Don't let animal control or the WCSO tell you there isn't one still out there look at all the domestic animals that go missing even those that are returned seem emotionally scared and physical injuries that lead professionals to say "it appears these wounds are consistent with those we see from emu's!" Joe it's a story before your time, but I dare you to ask for reports of sightings!
There's other things needing shooting to.
I have heard the stories 12:25 pm is talking about my friend lived in Waterview and they were reportedly seen down that way this spring running in a group of 2 full size ones an a couple that looked young like a year old or so.
