Do As I Say, Not As I Do

When you are heading east on business Rt. 50 and you look onto the shoulder of the road and the sidewalk that runs right next to it, this is what you see.

As Mayor of Salisbury, I would make sure that ANY time you enter this City and drive through it, it will be as nice as humanly possible. Even if that means reaching out to volunteers to help us if things are that tight financially.

Clearly the Mayor does not get out and about to see what's going on. Clearly the Mayor doesn't care. I'm telling you straight up, I'd be one of those volunteers. This is ridiculous. I don't care if some of you come back here and say that road is a state road, IT'S IN OUR CITY! IF we citizens have to help the state, so be it.

That looks disgusting. The city can't collect fines from the city, county or state so they pick on the property owners for revenue.

I have been cited for the above. Residents or homeowners are responcible for unsightly overgrowth at the sidewalk, curb all the way to the gutter.

I really don't mind keeping my property looking as good as I can, it does irk me that the city doesn't take care of it's own property.

Let Mr. Fancy Pants get out and do some real work and sweat for a change. A least Louise Smith used to organize garbage duties with city employees and volunteer residents in certain areas to get some trash picked up.

That's Art. Called back to nature.

Maybe some concerned sby newsers could volunteer some time to take care of these weeds........

Maybe some of the welfare recepients could help out with this. Also, the area around the library is dirty with trash, cig butts, dead leaves, and it would be nice if the homeless that hang around this area would get out and help with this cleanup since they use the library as their daytime home.

I love this kind of reporting Joe, more more more

Or since it is a state road the lazy state employees who you see sitting on the side of a truck can do their job which they get paid for plus beneifts.

I agree with 1:39....Joe, why don't you and your supporters set an example and get out there and do the clean up before you become Mayor so everyone will know you are sincere. Maybe you would recruit some more supporters along the way.

Joe, this is like this in every town. Drive around Delmar and look how bad the weeds are.

There is some crummy towns around here and then you go to Berlin. Why does it look so nice?

6:22, because the mayor in SBY only cares about beating up council members letting a photo op, and most of the people don't care about keeping anything up.

Berlin, its officials, its people pull together instead of punches.

Jim-beau can't be bothered with City matters -- he's too busy campaigning for Obama (along with Laura Mitchell).

To cut the budget they got rid of the people who did this kind of work. Usually they are the lower paying jobs. Again, you get what you pay for.

You think Salisbury is bad? Check out the trash lying around Princess Anne. Litter and trash is everywhere there is foot traffic of the local residents.
