Special Education's Annual Parent Survey

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE MARYLAND'S 2011-2012 PARENT INVOLVEMENT SURVEY A RECORD SUCCESS

Each year the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) surveys parents to determine how well your child's school is partnering with you and promoting your involvement in your child's education. All states must collect these data as part of their State Performance Plans required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

The paper Survey will be mailed to you in June 2012. Your Survey packet will include a postage-paid envelope for you to return your completed Survey.

You will also able to complete the Survey online at http://www.mdparentsurvey.com. Your packet will include the unique code so that you can complete the Survey online, if you prefer. If you lose your code, you can request it online.

Your feedback is important in helping the State and local school systems to continue to improve education programs for children with specialized needs.

Has anyone heard that Ron Willey has rescinded his request to the Governor and is now asking to be reappointed to the Wicomico County Board of Education?

Who cares? Families provide feedback all year to the state but they always respond that the local school system has the right to run the school their way...even if it is neglectful of students' needs.
