(Reuters) - The Taliban urged Afghans on Thursday to target foreign military bases and "beat and kill" Westerners in retaliation for burnings of copies of Islam's holy book, the Koran, at NATO's main base in the country as a third day of protests began.
Thousands of demonstrators rallied across the country on Wednesday, some chanting "Death to America!" and demanding U.S. and foreign military forces leave Afghanistan, Reuters witnesses and local officials said.
"Our brave people must target the military bases of invader forces, their military convoys and their invader bases," read an e-mailed Taliban statement released by spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.
"They have to kill them (Westerners), beat them and capture them to give them a lesson to never dare desecrate the holy Koran again."

Making friends everywhere we go. Either speak up and give a reason why this was done or expect the consequences, but don't use it as a reason to get us into another war.
The reason was already given loud and clear. But just like here in the good ol US of A, you have idiots who would rather shout and scream instead of listening to the facts. Then you have "leaders" willing to take advantage of those passions for thier own gain.

I thought they said this was an accident? Everybody makes mistakes, but in reality they just needed a reason to jump up and protest. Be prepared! The "winds of change" are at hand....

They burned the qurans because the prisoners were writting notes back and forth to each other in them. So they can write all over them and deface them and there is no problem...throw them away in the trash and they have a hissy fit. Religion of peace my .....

526 that president with no backbone went right into their backyards and took out public enemy #1. He continues to allow our men and women to bomb away on targets in Pakistan, is taking the fight to terrorists in Africa, had the balls to stand with freedom in Egypt, helped overthrow another dictator in Libya, and is doing more to choke out Iran's ambitions than any president we've seen in quite a while. Hmmmm, I guess to you a "backbone" means you simply talk a bunch of trash from thousands of miles away in order to look good for the cameras.
