Return Of The War Party?

Is a vote for the Republican Party in 2012 a vote for war?

Is a vote for Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich a vote for yet another unfunded war of choice, this time with a nation, Iran, three times as large and populous as Iraq?

Mitt says that if elected he will move carriers into the Persian Gulf and "prepare for war." Newt is even more hawkish. America should continue "taking out" Iran's nuclear scientists – i.e., assassinating them – but military action will probably be needed.

Newt is talking up uber-hawk John Bolton for secretary of state.

Rick Santorum has already called for U.S.-Israeli strikes: "Either we're going to stop them ... or take the long term consequences of having a nuclear Iran trying to wipe out the state of Israel."

But if Iran represents, as Bibi Netanyahu is forever reminding us, an "existential threat," why does not Israel itself, with hundreds of nuclear weapons, deal with it?

Bibi's inaction speaks louder than Bibi's words.

The War Talk is a requirement of these politicians' owners. Their funders (owners) insist on maintaining the war machine of Israel. These politicians do not care about the best interests of Americans. They serve another Master.

We already knew this connection. Many times Republicans have been referred to as war mongers. Especially after the lies leading to the Iraq war!
After hearing more than one of the candidates state they would attack Iran AND they're in favor of torture in the form of waterboarding, I lost all interest in voting for either one of those candidates!

The DEMOCRATIC controlled Congress voted FOR that war.

To continue with Anon 7:31's comment - you forgot to add -
Because they were LIED to by the sitting REPUBLICAN President and his cabinet!
Don't just conveniently leave out the rest of the facts.
I understand why you did it though, Republicans have a way of doing this sort of thing all the time.

1154-Just like Libya was a threat to our nation...Or the vast expansion of Bush era policies by the Obama administration...We have a war monger at 1600 Penn Ave right now.

Israel will be initiating the conflict with Iran, and I'm led to believe soon after we pull out of Iraq at years end. I talk to Admirals and Chiefs' of Staff here in DC on a regular basis. You'd be quite suprised how open they are after a night of drinking and watching a ballgame. This is consistent info I've heard for the past year. As it so happens, our gov't just sold bunker busters to Israel within the past 12 months. The US will NOT initiate it. But we're already supporting the cause materially.
