Governor Markell has proclaimed November as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Amanda Moretto of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network says there's a reason why this type of cancer is so dangerous. She says it develops in the pancreas, which is deep within the body and therefore can become advanced before it is detected.
