NO because how can you pay taxes if you can't get a job or drive to the job? (most jobs require an photo ID or a scanned copy of said ID) secondly they do the same for people who owe child support... They through them in jail or take their license... How can they work if there in jail or can't drive?
Better yet why would they pay them taxes that is owed if they have to pay for transportation via the bus or taxi...
The Govt is a group of dead beat, brain dead people... I wouldn't expect anything less at this point... So to see this post, it just reinforces what I mean...

It urks me when people do not live up to their responsibility. It is not like there is no notice that taxes will be due. Save for that day.
Don't wait until the last day to renew your tags and license. Allow yourself ample time to correct the problem if state says taxes are not paid, either the state's or yours.
Getting out of Maryland may not solve paying taxes, tag and license renewal.

I'm always mildly amused by the people who say yeah, let the government do WHATEVER they want....pay your bills. Save the money. Jail those deadbeats. Must be nice to have all your problems solved. I have a good job and DO pay my bills. BUT, I know many other hard working, honest and moral people who have went from $40-60,000 a year to part time work. Lost their house. Some bills didn't get paid. You want a 15 member SWAT team to kick their door down? Make sure they can't get their license? How about denying them groceries until they meet your standards? Get those ovens working again and line those worthless humans up!! Damn deadbeats.

remember driving is a privelidge in the state of Maryland. if you don't pay taxes, why should you be afforded this privelidge?

It doesnt matter what any of us think its now law..as usual the wolves cry foul after the fact.As a previous person wrote we arent owed a license we earn it. If you dont pay your proper taxes i guess you had better research bus schedules. I gues be a responsible adult and you wont have issues sounds pretty simple no? If you are having financial issues there are many ways to get help but ignoring your issue isnt one of them. I also believe illegals can no longer get license in the state of maryland.

What if they make a mistake and you don't owe any taxes but they withhold your tags. Is it fair that you lose your job because of lack of transportation. What happen to innocent until proven guilty.
After all this is the government we are talking about. We all know they make more mistakes than regular businesses.
