Is Shania Twain For Real?

As many of you know, Oprah started a new network on TV called OWN Network. One of the segments this new network is showing is the alleged comeback of Shania Twain.

Because I have always enjoyed her music I took interest in seeing what was actually going on. However, I watched a few of the shows and have come to the conclusion that this woman is trying to get the sympathy of Americans because she's too afraid to come back on stage and perform. One minute she does and the next she's saying, I can't do this.

If you have seen some of these shows, how do you feel about it. Am I not reading into it properly? Am I missing what Oprah is seeing by producing a show about Shania Twain as well as the Judds? I'm not a big TV fan but I'm wondering why anyone should be sympathetic for someone who is making millions of dollars performing and then going on national TV and crying the blues publicly because she's too afraid to move forward with her life.

IF I'm on the right track here, I do not feel sorry for her. IF Oprah is trying to come up with her own Reality TV version of the Judds and Twain, well, it sucks.

Maybe they are trying to show that rich celebrities have "real life problems" just like the poor normal people. It looks like her life has been far from perfect.

If you really want to know what Twain is all about--you should read her book. It's a history of her life and, I feel, she is the true thing. Just my opinion.

Oprah is jealous of Dr. Phil even though she created him.
Now she is playing Dr. Oprah , we'll make it better .

4:57, oprah created Dr. phil, has a much bigger following, and a much bigger bank account, yet she is jealous? LOL

Shania brought about the death of real country music. What we have today is a direct result of her pop oriented music which was over produced by brit "Mutt Lange". Now I am all about some of "Mutt's" slick production work with Def Leppard but it has no place in country at all. Country is dead. Has been since around the time of Shania Twain, a Canadian.

:o)

Sorry, but country crossover and the "death" of country was boo hoo'd by country purists long before Twain came along.

Guess what? Real country ain't dead. Not as commercially commanding, but it sure is still there. If you love it, work for it.

Guess you're happy with Justin Beiber getting a CMA. Country is dead, sorry to be the one to tell you.

There is good old time Country music on RFD TV. I do not think Comcast carries it in our area (eastern shore) but it is on Directv and Dish Network. Shows I throughly enjoy. If you like country you Comcast people should be demanding RFD TV. Comcast carries it in other areas.

The key here with Shania is that many many women can relate to the pain she endured when and how her relationship ended. And men love her. Shes gonna drive up Oprahs ratings.

The problem I have with the OWN network is that there are so many re-runs of Shania Twain and The Judds. Show them a few times and go on to something else. Personally, I like Shania and her music and I believe she is real!

I have never watched either Twain or the Judds shows. I have a hard time watching any show where people whine about their fame and fortune they walked away from and are now realizing they peed away the money and no one cares to focus on them any more. That's part of being famous, they know they are taking a risk in losing the followers when they decide to quit performing so deal with it! I also refuse to watch the OWN channel as well after Oprah's biased actions during the elections.

We are getting the OWN channel as a free preview for the next month. Gee, thanks. So her husband of 14 yrs left her for her best friend. Shania in turn is now married to the ex-husband of the ex best friend. Seriously? no really seriously?!

@ June 10 8pm, Comcast has the RFD TV but you have to pay extra money on the Sports Tier to get the channel.
