Are You Satisfied With The Local Election Results?

Absolutly satisfied! A Ruark defeat and O'Donnell win just makes my day. Now if we can just get rid of that Somerset County States attorney we will all be better off and safer. Ruark and Hickman covered each others backs all of the time and now it's time for them both to go get a job where they don't destroy innocent peoples lives and let criminals walk the streets.

Yes. In Delaware, Castle is OUT and Rollins didn't get in. So yes, HAPPY!

No... Mitchell is a defense attorney who has no place as the county's lead prosecutor!

Joe,
I couldn't find another place to put this. What is your take on the Salisbury Police Chief situation. Particularly in regards to the article in the Daily Times yesterday involving the letters sent to the mayor.

anonymous 10:33, First of all, that race is too close to call. However, should Seth win we will congratulate him. Should Seth lose, we will congratulate him. No matter the results, there's no denying Seth fought extremely hard and even though we felt Davis could provide a better service, we're not the ones who decides political races. Moving forward, should Seth win, he's up against one heck of a fine young man who, (without a doubt) has an incredible future. The fat lady is not singing yet and won't do so until November.

anonymous 10:35, Ivan Barkley is one heck of a man and clearly one heck of a Police Chief. Unlike Webster, Barkley has clearly gained the respect a Chief deserves from his/her Officers. My hat is tiipped to Ivan as well as all of the fine Officers willing to put their names on the line to show such support.

The bottom line, again, it's not my decision to make. The Mayor has the right to interview other candidates and the Council will make the final call. There are some very credible candidates out there and it will be a tough call. I wouldn't want to be Mayor Ireton on this one.

One thing about Mitchell is that since he has been a defense attorney, he's very in touch of what it takes to bring down the defense. He would be a tough adversary, especially if he knows all the defense tricks and strategies.

I couldn't be happier over Seth Mitchell's apparent victory over Davis Ruark. If I figure it correctly, Ruark would have to get 75% of the absentee votes to come out a winner. I don't believe that will happen.

I am a Democrat but to me I believe that Matt would do an awesome job as state's attorney and I will vote for him and do anything that I can to get him elected.

Ruark turned me off when he insisted on Sam Vincent's resignation if Sam was to be a candidate for the job.

Glad to see Reggie Mason won in Worcester Co. Worked with him for years with OCPD and he was always an upstanding and dedicated LEO. jackkcharl@aol.com
As far as Barkley, it is my opinion that he should be given the job. Quite some time ago OCPD hired Chiefs thru the ranks and I feel that it is now one of the premier agencies in the State.

So be it folks...if you think its time for change and Davis is voted out that is your decision, however, in my opinion, the heart and tears and hard work he did to find Sarah Foxwell shouldn't be forgotten. Is there anyway this man can still act as the prosecuting attorney towards Leggs?I think he deserves to see this case to the end...whats your opinion?

If hes out of office at trial I believe he will then become a witness for the state.

For the first time in 3 election cycles, I won't have to take down one of my yard signs!
Worcester County voters should be congratulated for not falling for the games played by the Dems.

Now, if we get the same vote counts Todd will be gone... FINALLY!

I am disappointed that Mr. Ruark did not win.
Will he become an asst. States Attorney or a criminal defense attorney?

Ruark should have got it by a good margin. Just goes to show how little most people know about that office. I Hope he is a lot better at this new job, than he is at his old one.

Just remember people, you asked for it...no crying and complaining later.

I'm fairly satisfied with all the election results except for the House of Delegates 38A race. Phoebus, worked his butt off in this campaign, as I'm sure the others did too. My only wish is that Otto surrounds himself with knowledgable conservatives from the shore. Currently, my opinion of him is someone who is afraid to debate, afraid to speak (even on the radio ads), and afraid to defend anyone other than his farmer buddies. Phoebus was robbed.

9:06 - well said. My hope - though I am not optomistic - is that Otto takes this opportunity to grow a backbonea and take a crash course in conservative shore politics. I guess we'll see. I know the seafood industry for one is worried.
