Joe,
In reference to the dog incident posted today, the official police report is that the dog died of natural causes. This was determined after SPD interviews with several parties, including the woman who had her dog leashed and was passing by the property occupied by the soon-to-be deceased animal. The police could find no evidence of a dog fight (no wounds, no blood, no saliva on the dead dog's coat) or anyone who witnessed any sort of physical contact between the two. There was no crime committed.
The deceased dog was 12 years old.
Sincere condolences to the family who just lost their pet.

Tim, thank you for the clarification.
I am sure this will still be a difficult pill to swallow for the family of the deceased dog. Dogs will be dogs and they will always be territorial.
By the way my friend the city election is around the corner!!

I live in the neighborhood and really appreciate that our president took the initiative to contact the police deparment and get information that would help us to better understand what happened. My condolences to the owner of the dog that died and to everyone involved. it is a very sad thing.
