Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On September 13, 2010 at approximately 11:44 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that store employees had observed the below listed suspect take clothing from the store without any attempts at payment. The property was recovered and returned to the store.
ARRESTED: Alicia Sue’ann Barnes, 19 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On September 13, 2010 at approximately 5:40 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that store employees had observed the below listed suspect take clothing from the store without any attempt at payment. The items were recovered and returned to the store.
ARRESTED: Juvenile, 17 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)
DISPOSITION: Released to guardian

On September 14, 2010 at approximately 9:00 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that store employees had observed the below listed suspect take jewelry from the store without any attempt at payment. The items were recovered and returned to the store.
ARRESTED: Justin Dashaun Macon, 18 years of age
Norfolk, Virginia
CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On September 14, 2010 at approximately 4:59 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the K-mart Department Store for the report of two (2) juvenile shoplifters. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised the officers that store employees had observed the below listed suspects take clothing from the store without attempting to make payment. The items were recovered and retuned to the store.
ARRESTED #1: Juvenile, 17 years of age
Pocomoke, Maryland
ARRESTED #2: Juvenile, 16 years of age
Pocomoke, Maryland
CHARGES (Both): Theft (under $ 1000)
DISPOSITION: Both released to guardians

2:00-I agree! There have been a lot of shoplifters caught lately. Either the shoplifters are getting sloppy or the loss prevention people are getting sharper!

There are certain retailers like Walmart, K-Mart and Sears who take loss prevention serious to keep costs down . Then Others like Lowes who could care less. I know. I worked ther for a long time and think I only saw the police come for a shoplifter maybe 4 times.
Surprised the theifs havnt learned yet which stores not to steal from. Guess they dont read this blog!!
